During a joint military exercise by both U.S. and British troops, two of the highest commanders were discussing their troops, and both were convinced that their own troops were braver than the other's.
US General: Your British troops are fine, but our Marines are braver!
British SAS officer: I doubt that, but anyway, how can you prove it?
US General: That's easy! Look!
He calls to one of the nearby US marines:
Marine! Go to the top of that 20 metre high tower and throw yourself off, head first.
The marine looks puzzled and worried, but since he cannot disobey an order, he says "Yessir!" goes up the steps to the top and jumps off, head first. He hits the ground with a thump and is rushed away to hospital.
US General turns to SAS officer: That's bravery!
British SAS Officer: Yes, maybe, but ...
He turns to an SAS trooper: Trooper! Go up that tower and throw yourself off head first.
SAS trooper: Go get stuffed you f* * * ing idiot!
SAS officer turns to US General: THAT, general, is bravery!
