I couldn't agree more with recon. Advanced warfighter certainly is not worth to be caled "Ghost Recon" neither as Lockdown isn't worth to be called "Rainbow Six". Both games have ridiculouse damage system and don't focus on teamplay whatsoever.

The problem is consoles and the search for more $$$.

Your making a big bucks game for the XBox or the Playstation. You got at best the option of 2 players, maybe four to do Free-For-All split screen, two player Coop I think went under with Donkey Kong. Online maybe you can get 8-16 Players (Maximum). They are probably gonna want FFA or TDM and your being rushed to write the game, wth cares about the game once they got their paycheck??

Now, "Yo we're porting to PC". Programmers groaaannnn and we get a PC version that is lacking what we seek, because they can't do on the consoles what we expect. Also even worse: "We're doing Console and PC release !", Programmers take an asprin and we and up with a game that is ether to PC'ish to be big on the consoles or watered down enough to keep Consolers happy while they make money on both versions.

People want games like Doom, Quake, Halo, HF, CS they don'
t want games like old school Rainbow Six or SWAT, or Ghost Recon. So those that are the minority suffer while the companies grow fat and the butt holes and "Fun time in the ol'time tonight" causuals deside the popular vote.

The most team oriented game I have ever played (Single Player), has got to be SWAT4 where the AI is an idiot but better then any thing before and SOCOM II where they are no more necessary to have along then in SOCOM I, but now they are smart enough to kick ass and not give away your position with insessent running and LoF crossing and frag toss missing antics !
