Are RvS and XFire both running under the same user account?
i.e. you must run xfire under the same admin account as raven shield, or it will pop a cork; just the same as RvS will refuse to run without administrator privilege.
A proper answer to that would be beyond the scope of this thread Chester, but the short answer is likely that all platforms officially supported by RvS/Xfire/DX as a whole, should share the same issue I dealt with earlier.
Do bare in mind however, that many (purely) native windows programs were never (truly) designed for the Windows NT architecture -- including Raven Shield. With NT 6.x, Microsoft is finally forcing the choice of Do It Right or Hack It. Many things that Vista got bad mouthed for changing, stem from the worlds failure to migrate themselves from MS-DOS / Windows 3.x / Windows 9x centric thinking to Windows NT - after 5+ years of grace period.
@ the OP - as Duke said, the simplist solution is don't run Xfire and RvS at the same time. If that's not viable, see my previous post.
i have the same problem under Vista and both programs are running in the same instance, that makes no differences. I guess it is a problem of the NVIDIA driver but i am not 100% sure.
One workaround is start rvs 1st and then xfire. But sometimes it crashes the game !
Are you running xfire at the same time? That could be the problem.

Has anything changed between when it started and before then?
The game changes resolutions when switching between out of game menus and playing a map.
I think its Xfire. Whenever its on, i cant get into a game, when its off: no problem. So whats the solution?

Don't turn xfire on...
...or come to SWAT.

Does that apply to just Vista or any OS, Spidey?
I'm the only one to use this computer (Win XP 64), so I run everything under Administrator, and never have any problems.

In xfire, try to disable "ingame chat" function. This little bugger kept crashing my game all the time.
Your CPU, is that a dual core or quadcore.
If its dual, there is fixe3s you can download... If its quad... well then I hope your are a computer geek lol.
Its a thread about it in this forum....
Starting xfire second actually works. Starting both programms as administrator does make no difference.
