Welcome to the SAS Training Ground 1. There are still hostages that wait to be rescued, terrorists that has to be taken out, bombs that have to be demolished...

You will find a RvS-server with nice lads, team work and throrough planning of the missions. Enjoy.

Commanding Officer has Blue Saber
Admins have Green Saber
Comissioned Officers have Purple Saber

The rest are still a few pints short of a sabre.

hi again, i read the joining rules and regulations and i must say i dont think im ready to join this elite cadre of players just yet, i think i will get some training in on your servers first. im very impressed by your site and look forward to training with you on the weekend. however i havent played RVS online before so youll have to go easy on me. having read the joining prospectus i understand that i will need alot of training before i try out for the clan, once i have learned how the clan operates i will apply to join and hopefully make a worthy addition to this fine team you already have. thx for reading Biggrin

Hehe, most clans I have been around. Have used ether one of two basic systems.

0.) Via invite only

1.) 1vs1 with a Clan member, observed by a senior. >= so much % of Clan Members score, means you passed the tryout.

The first group I was involved with in my MechWarrior carrier required 2/3 of the clan members fragcount to pass the tryout.

When I finished my MW carrieer and went serious after the [SAS]. I was very shocked to find. That [SAS] was a team that would train me before taking a tryout ! lol.

So, SAS fits into a third category Wink

Good news.

And don't worry. The SAS guy's will take good care of you. At least they did with me.

I started to play in february this year. And that was my first time online. And long time since the last time i played RvS. When I found out that SAS was a very good clan i aplicated in March i think.. But I got trained and had a lot of fun on TG1. And in June I made Rct.

So just stay on the server(s), and have fun. You will learn it, I did. And you will meet a lot og nice people and get som new friends.

Hope to see you on TG1 on monday...

Have you got Xfire???

Yes, the Troopers Tryout is hard. But the test is just the end of a long process.

In the old days, when I was accepted, there was a Recruit tryout and a Trooper tryout. The Recruit tryout is substituted with another internal selection process within the SAS.

We observe applicants for a durated period of time, we look into maturity, politeness, endurance, patience, tactical skills etc.

Applicants that make it to the Selection Course is under the whip from our never-resting NCOs untill they seem able to pass the TT. You need 98 points out of 100 to pass.

We have a lot of applicants, but very few make it into the SC, and some fails the SC.

But don't let these facts discourage your intentions... Smile

Hmmmm

My first application was sent around January 2005, I became a recruit in September of 2005 when I passed my Recruit tryout. So it is no fast process for most people.

My over 1200 hours in RvS is only dated from when I first joined XFire back in May 2005. I've played Raven Shield in one capacity or another since 2004, mostly on the [SAS] Training Grounds b||b.

im withdrawing my application because, some people on the servers want to help me get better, but others are not interested! i do not want to be associated with a clan that doesnt value its members. please delete my account as you see fit.
