Ive played it, but it just doesnt seem like the type of shooter that i would play. but ill try it out once i have more than 512mb of ramto see if its smoother than it is now
Not ready to swap out my whole computer just yet... and unfortunately my current MB has AGPx8 not PCI-E... so a new card for me is going to be one of those old AGPx8 256mb Nvidia cards....
Slow by todays benchmarks... but blazing faster then my current piece...
Has anybody checked the recent prices of NVIdias? From what I hear they're dirt cheap because everyone is waiting for the NVIdia 8800s and their Microsoft Vistas. 8O
I am actually watching Nvidia prices, how did you know?
Because I, like yourself am a wizard, and quite the magical one!
And in response to what Spidey said, yeah that is definately dirt cheap in comparison to what the prices were looking like in March '06. I was actually thinking about buying an NVidia 7950 back then, when they cost almost $1800 8O, glad I waited. Should've just waited a bit longer, I got mine for 350...:(
This Game is the greatest, I love it, But is is like the OFP, but with better graficks. It has potentials as a SAS game, you can now make a dedicated server where we play Special forces operations, I know that it is not CQB but you can send ind a SAS team to disabel som tanks or to do other missions befor the regular units advanch. Or simply do recon of the enemys positions.
With a 7950 and 2GB of RAM I think it should make up for the slower processor

I have a P4 2.8 with 3 Gig of DDR Ram... but it is too slow and choppy... must be my V card... I have an older Nvidia with only 128 mb ram...
In the future I will upgrade the V card, but alas not yet... so I will evaluate the game then...
Reserving Judgement.

If you've got up to $250 on you, you can get a good card here. $120-180 for some thing less killer but still uber.

I started this topic to discuss impressions after having played the Armed Assault demo.
Since the topic was so utterly hijacked with tech specs on the game, I edited the name of the topic in stead of crying "hijack"...

Thought I'd just post it here. A nice movie from OFP (not ArmA).
