I am interested in starting to play this game when the new version comes out. Is the coop play any good on Ghost Recon usually?

Indeed it is.. Ghost Recon is in my opinion the best game ever.

Try buying the gold edition which of cause includes the original game plus the two expansions.

You can get the game very cheap.

There is still no trailers out from the PC version, but anyways try check some of these videos from the Xbox 360.. I'll recommend the "GT Video Preview", "GT Multiplayer Interview" and the "Multiplayer Trailer".

It sounds and looks really awesome.

I think GR: Advanced Warfighter is gonna be a flop, like Lockdown.

Do you see the pattern?

Ravenshield --> Lockdown

Ghost Recon --> GR: Advanced Warfighter

I think its going to be sweet. I'm looking forward to see some gameplay videos, but they are only showing the old ones and the ones for the Xbox 360. Also, its been push back to May(the release date). Thats a good thing, more time to put into the PC version only.

To read more about this here is the link to the offical Ghost Recon site.

Also some screenshots for all console. (Xbox 360, Xbox, PC, & PS2)

That would be a logical assumption but you failed to include Ghost Recon 2 that was the Ghost Recon flop. It took the stand alone expansion Summit Strike for the xbox verison to fix everything wrong with the core game. Ghost Recon 2 was a flop sales and game wise to the point it was canned for PC release.

Considering Ubisoft's and Red Storm's history they generaly get a franchise back on its feet on the next installment unless they really really bombed it. I'm intrested in seeing how GR:AW will play but I'm going to treat the game like I treated any other new title, with a grain of salt till I get to beta it till retail or get to try a retail demo. I've been in a lot of betas, including Lockdown and SWAT 4's, and I'm normaly not allowed to talk about them but I will be more than happy to give "future" opinions.

Yes please do that.

You where right about Lock Down though, even that we didnt believe you at first.

According to the interview I posted, they should be working on a demo as we speak.

I must say this game is getting rave reviews for XBOX 360 and the graphics are so realistic, especially explosions. If it has the coop elements as before we may have a leading game. Ive seen some levels where were your in a blackhawk together before touching down to do team work which sounds pretty cool.

Skrevet af: [GR]Dark,PO til Lørdag den 25. Mar 2006 - kl. 13:26

Thursday 23rd marts at 2.50 pm [GR]Bangebuks and I, [GR]Dark,Po were waiting outside 20 Hørkær in Herlev for the time to be 3 o’clock.
That was the time we had an appointment to talk to Harald Horsberg, Marketing Manager at Ubisoft Nordic. Now we had the chance - with our own eyes – to see the proof that GRAW on PC in fact are coming.
At first Harald excused for the PC hardware we had to play on, for not living up the demands that GRAW normally needs. It was missing 1 gb ram and the graphic card could be better. But we really didn’t care, we just wanted to play GRAW. The PC started, loaded the game and YES it looked so good – now we could play.
After a few seconds – who would be the first to play – I sat by the keyboard and started playing. From the start I felt like home. Everything worked just like in GR 1 with a lot of improvements, among other things the “ctrl” key is used to drop and raise stance.
Unfortunately we only had the opportunity to play one mission and I will try to give you a first impression here.
From the HUD, which is placed in the right upper corner on the screen you will have a lot of information from the helicopter pilot about the mission you are entering. It is also used for live transmission from a television station which tells you about the person we are supposed to rescue.
In the left lower corner is an info-bar showing your health and stance. In the right lower corner you will se your weapon status. All the information you need to get ready for action.
After having received the information I got ready to jump from the helicopter and glide through the thin air high above Mexico City. Here you got the first really impression of the graphics in the game – and even if the graphic card was poor and the solution 800x600 it looked soooooo nice.
On my way down I enjoyed the view over Mexico City while steering right and left. Hmmmm I thought – would I meet Mother Earth with 300km/hour – now I could use a parachute!! and pop here it comes. The details of Mecico City came more and more clear. Nice feeling.
I landed on a highway and got a brief introduction to the main key functions – again from the pilot showing up in the HUD. After the introduction and 4 years of waiting I was going to rock and roll. The difficulty was set to easy, so that I would have the possibility to survive the mission.
Even if there are many streets in Mexico City, it was reasonably easy to find your way and I used some time sightseeing and enjoying the details in the game.
The enemies (AI) were aggressive, intelligent and when you fire at them, they try to protect themselves behind a wall or the like and then defending.
When you use the tabulator key you will se a map, where you will find your three team mates.
You can give waypoints and commands, use the UAV (in GRAW called a drone) and of course find your way in the city and where to go.
The so called “dead-edges” we saw in GR 1 have gone. When I run over a ramp and want to continue over the edge your person slows down automatically and walk down and then continue the running, again very realistic.
So the well known edges have disappeared and as promised there is still no bunny jumping – thank you Ubisoft and GRIN.
When you shoot a car the tire punctures and the window breaks. You can see the bullet holes and when you continue the shooting the door falls out. When you crawl you can see your weapon move from side to side and when you move faster – on your elbows – your weapon is pressed against your body. Reloading is very nice and you really can se, that they have used military experts in the development.
I found a stair that led me to the roof, where I could enjoy the scenery. After many years of playing the pc I have never seen such a detailed picture in a game.
It was such a big experience to play GRAW and there is no doubt in my mind that Ubisoft and GRIN have listened to the community about the spirit in the game and the gameplay from GR1 is kept intact. Because this was only a preview we couldn’t play the multiplayer part, but Harald told us, that there will be many improvements in the multiplayer as well.
The game ran smoothly without any problems in spite of the hardware.
I am looking forward to playing this game which is so realistic in the way the tactical and operational part is fulfilled and I believe this is the closest you can get to the real world – at the present time.
The sound is a chapter of its own and again thanks to Ubisoft and GRIN for no irritating background music but instead a decent theme mood which contribute to the intensity in the game. One thing for sure – I am going to invest in a surround headset.
We couldn’t get a clear answer to the demands for hosting a server, but Harald thought it would be the same as in GR1.
It is more than 3½ years ago we last time saw something new for GR – Island Thunder – and since that we became cheated for GR2. Now we have to wait just a few weeks while GRAW is fine-tuned (God, I could play it right away), but that’s all right.
The game we all have been promised by Ubisoft and GRIN has been fulfilled today. They have been loyal to the Ghost Recon game and gamers. The introduction of the “feared” HUD is in fact a super detail that makes the game even better than GR1 and seems to be a natural part of the game.
I won’t give character to the game because it is only a preview. But for keeping up the real Ghost Recon spirit and loyalty I will give 9 out of 10 to Ubisoft and GRIN.
Thanks to Harald Horsberg, Marketing Manager at Ubisoft Nordic for giving us some insight into the upcoming GRAW for PC.

More INFO, not much though.

Q. What can you tell us about the background chosen for this new Ghost Recon episode?

A. The story of GRAW revolves around Captain Mitchell and a part of his Ghost team travelling to Mexico City to educate Mexican troops and showcase US military equipment during a political meeting, only to find themselves in the middle of a guerrilla uprising. The Ghost team becomes the tip of the spear as US and Mexican troops join forces against a ruthless guerrilla leader. Be prepared for some epic street to street fights!

Q. Apart from a technical evolution, how GRAW differs from GR1?

A. We basically kept the best aspects of GR1. In GR1 the superiority of the Ghosts was, besides their meticulous training and elite operators, based mainly on their access to advanced weaponry, such as the OICW. In GRAW PC we build on that legacy and provide the Ghosts with some of the most modern and lethal hardware in the arsenal, but we also take the other technological aspects further by providing the Ghosts with an advanced communications system. This will not only enhance the soldiers’ perception and situation awareness, but also let him receive live video feeds from his team-mates’ helmet cameras as well as from the operational command. What your team-mates know – you know!

Q. Tactics was a strong feature in GR1. How have you succeed to enhance that aspect in GRAW?

A. Combined with an upgraded tactical map with direct satellite link – providing a live overview of the battle area – the Ghost leader can plan and execute objectives strategically on the fly, always certain that he has the latest Intel. Following the evolvement of unmanned vehicles we have also given the Ghosts access to a UAV 3, a remote controlled drone capable of hovering high above the rooftops and feed the team leader and operational command with immediate and detailed intelligence updates – such as the positions of individual enemies. This is the future, and information means power more than ever. Gamers will certainly be thrilled with the new technological possibilities available in GRAW.

Q. What are the unique features of the PC version compared to the consoles?

A. GRAW PC and consoles are two completely different games, since the expectations from PC gamers are different from their consoles homologues. We did not focus on direct action as it was the case on consoles but, once again, more on a strategic and tactical aspect. Planning will be a key aspect of the PC version. The more you prepare your attack the more it has the chance to succeed! Beside that, players will discover a new interface, unique features specially designed for the PC such as the ‘Air strike’ command or a mod system allowing creating a large number of weapons’ combinations. There is a lot to discover…

Q. Multiplayer is a most wanted! Can you tell us a bit on this specific part?

A. You do not expect me to use all my bullets now?!  Ok, I can assure you that the development team is currently focusing on delivering the best possible multiplayer experience for GRAW. What I can tell you at the moment is that we have a really unique and original multiplayer mode on the way and it will require the players to use all their sense of strategy to get victorious… There is more to come on that subject soon.
