Hello SAS. I felt like stopping by to say hi and I am looking to play some Raven Shield or Insurgency if anyone still has those games. I saw you were looking to start playing Ready or Not and I am wondering what you guys think about it so far. It seems similar to Raven Shield, but with the realism of Insurgency and I think it would be nice to play with a dedicated group.

Hey Gothic. We're looking into Ready Or Not, i'm personally waiting for the alpha to drop some time this month. If it's anything similar to SWAT 4 with just an extra bit of modern polish, I'll be playing it for hours on end.
We'll see though. I did have high hopes for Takedown: Red Sabre, but that went south very quickly...

Let us know how the alpha goes, though I suspect there will be a lot of bugs and glitches. By the way, does SAS still have Insurgency and Raven Shield servers?

SAS has a RVS server ... I think the port # is firewalled . I it shows in the list but the port is 8888 .Most ports for RVS is 7777 or 7778. I have asked how this can be fixed , I think its uner review. BTW nice to meet you Im indeep247 aka cool breeze.

Hullo, welcome to the forums. I don't believe the RvS servers are running at the moment. Maybe DC could answer for sure. Ready or Not seems like it will be much closer to Swat 4 in terms of play style, though we will see when the alpha comes out later this month (?). We've moved on from Insurgency as it did not suit our playing style, though it remains a fun game. Looking forward to playing sometime, welcome!

I had a lot of fun. Great to see that there are still people who play Raven Shield and big thanks to Rev for helping me set up multiplayer. Looking forward to playing more rounds.
By the way, that last mission we did was crazy, barely could see anything from all the snow and when there were 14 tangos left, I thought it was going to take me forever to find them. I also noticed some of them seem to actually walk around the fortress and underneath the bridge because when you had one last operative in your team left, there was a tango approaching you from behind. Luckily, I was right behind him so I managed to save you just in time. This happened when we were preparing to assault the fortress.
I also got to learn quite a bit about SAS' playstyle. Just from watching you play, I noticed that when you are preparing to move around a corner, you instantly would take out like ten targets in a blink of an eye. In my case, I tend to first take a quick look and then decide which targets to take out without alerting the others. I am more of a stealth/recon kind of operative with utility.
I guess there are still more tricks that I can learn with Raven Shield and here I thought I figured things out just from playing singleplayer since the game's release.

We were playing on AllR6 server, Tango Hunt. There are some people who play it and I have been running into some regular players of the server. Unfortunately, I have yet to see the other servers be populated so I guess people might have moved on a bit.
Its unfortunate really, I don't think there will ever be another game like Raven Shield in the Rainbow Six series. I hope Ready or Not will be considered as the next spiritual successor for Raven Shield and the SWAT series.
