Anyone else having the full

Anyone else having the full screen flickering issue in RVS with Windows 10? Tried some solutions from the net like vsync off and running with 1 core only. Did not work.

RVS is so old, It does not even want to run on my pc here, also with W10. It just does not work well with the newest OS/equipment.

Changing R6ScreenRefreshRate

Changing R6ScreenRefreshRate in the DefUser to 60 is what fixed that for me, when the game loads you skip the start scenes and than press alt-enter. (also play on windows 10)

My PC freezes constantly.

My PC freezes constantly. When I boot it up, I have a round 5-10 minutes before the screen freezes and I need to use the reset button. Has anybody experienced something like this? My specs are:

@Walker, I'm gonna try that.

@Walker, I'm gonna try that.

@Fluffy, not much regarding software, but some of these updates are made after the problem occured. Since I've been busy I haven't used that computer much (my gaming rig). I've changed monitor, but that had worked for some time without this crashing. I think it started around 10-14 days ago. Perhaps the day we played A3 and I constantly crashed.

I had freezing problems with

I had freezing problems with my pc and it happend most of the time I played RVS. Very annoying.

Some people thought it was my internet cuz I kept crashing non stop lol.

But in my case, it was fans overheating so it caused my pc to freeze so I ended up buying new fans.

Good point with the fans, I

Good point with the fans, I would also check if your cooling system is seated properly/working, and you CPU is not shutting down due to overheat.

RAM: OK. (I ran a memtest).

RAM: OK. (I ran a memtest).

CPU: Temperature is fine.

Fans: Will take a look and report back.

I've also checked my SSD disc and the report says it should be in a very fine condition. Same for HDD.

I got a BSOD saying "Critical process died". I followed these two steps in this guide and it seems to work now. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2559476/critical-process-died-blu...

Don't let your pc fool you I

Don't let your pc fool you I remember with my own pc that it didn't freeze for a week (cuz I didn't play any games) but when I tried to run RVS again to hope for the best I got trolled.

But anyway glad you fixed it cuz it's a really annoying uncommon and unrealistic problem.

Done goofed plz relp

Hi hello was wondering if you could do my job for me right, i opened up an hp desktop today to do a cleanup and apparently goofed while putting it back together, the issue behing that the pc powers up but i get 3 short beeps in a row and no display. Fans and motherboard are working and so is the cd drive. From what ive read it could have something to do with ram but ive cleaned up the ram and its motherboard slots. The desktop was working previously and afaik everything is connected correctly. Was wondering if you have encountered this issue before and possible solutions for it. Thnx in advance

If you can find out which

If you can find out which BIOS/UEFI runs on the desktop, you can google what the beep code 3* short means. Should also be written in the mainboard manual. Some mainboards have additionally a little 2 digit display where they display an alpha-numerical error code.

If those options are not available, strip the system down to bare minimum (powerunit, mainboard, cpu, ram, grahpicscard if no onboard graphic, fans) and see if that starts up. Make sure to really remove all other internal und external cables from the mainboard (HDD/SDDs, PCI cards, USB printer, etc). Double check if all cables are firmly connected and that RAM and graphics-card are sitting correctly in the right slots.

Funny you post that Luis as I

Funny you post that Luis as I had this issue 3 weeks ago. Had the same 3beeps (and monitor shows nothing on startup) after I tried to "upgrade" my ram and you know how it turned out.

Took it to the tech guy cuz I couldn't solve it on my own so eventually my motherboard was messed up and he had to replace it with a new one.

So you can check if ram is indeed the issue or not by changing it to a different slot. Good luck

and by the way you can also find out about this 3beeps error by checking your motherboard guide on the internet it should explain there what exactly causes the problem.

Replugged the cables and got

Replugged the cables and got no beeps anymore but still no display :/

Also tried replacing the cpu with one that wasnt that gr8 (bented edge) and got a red led on the power button and 3 long beeps. After swapping it out for the previous one the beeps were gone so I assume the cpu is working fine. Tried moving the ram around but no luck, at this point im assuming the board burned but if that was the case shouldnt the mobo led be out? Also tried swapping out the cmos battery but nothing really new hpned

No beeps but still no display

No beeps but still no display? Interesting

Try to unplug and plug back the monitor cable cuz I'm not sure why you get no display

If I was you I would send it to a medical care at tech lab.

I also did try to take out the cmos battery, didn't fix the problem for me.

Atleast the beeps are gone.

Did you look up what the 3

Did you look up what the 3 short beeps from the beginning mean? Try to start without graphics-card. If you get 3 short beeps again, you know what the initial issue was.

Does the PC normally beeps once when booting successfully? Most do. So a single beep together with a black screen would mean broken cable or broken monitor.

Swapping the CPU would have been the last thing I tried. I know this omg-stuff-is-broken situation can be nerve-racking, but one needs to keep a cool head. Check one possible issue after the next, beginning with the ones that need the least effort to check Wink
