With the Ready Or Not Alpha being deployed in August, I think it's time we dust off the [SAS] uniforms, MP5s and gasmasks, get in-game and shake the rust off with a bit of CQB basics training, followed by a couple of games, to put it into practice.
Who: 22nd SAS, EVR and community
What: CQB basics training.
Where: Either SWAT 4 or Ground Branch server
When: 15th June 2019 @ 1800
I realise it is the summer time, so date/time and game are entirely flexible.
Material will be taken from: https://sasclan.org/document/11874

First, no idea the document you are indicating--I do not have access. There are a few things, I've learned over the years that may or may not be useful in the transition to RoN. I'd suggest posting on Discord as well as the Steam Group and Forum, any and all proposed training sessions. I would also suggest upgrading the server to S4 SEF 7.0 since there have been enhancements made that will likely be incorporated into RoN since the developer for SEF is working on RoN.

That documents leads to our SOPs.
I'll definitely have to check out SEF over the weekend, given that the developer of RoN is also involved in it. Might be an interesting taste of things to come.

Sounds fun!
I have granted you access to the document, Random.
I might be able to make it. However, I am at a birthday so can't be sure..

Excellent, looking forward to it If you can't make it today, I'll be around tomorrow anyway. Same time and place.

The SEF server does not show up in the server list. The SWAT4x server DOES show in the list. There must be something different in the configuration that is blocking its visibility, but I'm not sure what it is.
I'm just certain that the server is not getting the use it could, if it was visible to all joiners.

Will give it another go and see if I can get it added to a server list

I'll see if I can get my S4 installed and set up, and be there.
Finally SEF should also be visible in the server list - Random does it work for you now?

Yes, it's just the admin that does not work at this point.

Admin PW now works. Thanks!
Are there commands that have been left out of the options? Usually the admin allows Abort Round, or Restart Map or commands to that effect. Is that possible through changing the server settings? It's great that we can now patrol PG8, maintain order, and provide a decent gaming experience. Thanks again.

No, all commands should be asigned to the Admin role. Let me do another check later this week just to be sure

The server would get more play if it were set up with stock maps on the rotation and let the players vote for custom maps. Many times players won't join a server running custom maps. The next time you have an opportunity, if you could make that adjustment, I believe we would see more traffic. Thanks again!

Stock maps are now in rotation. I have added all possible settings to the admin role so not sure where abort/start round went

I see there are people in the server now and playing stock maps.
It will be good to have a place where we can control the gaming experience when we are online and expose some of these people waiting for Ready or Not to our style. Thanks for all the fast reaction to my pestering for changes

I had some good rounds in there today trying to enlighten people to dynamic map clearing. I explained that fast AND tactical do not have to work against each other.
I believe it would be beneficial to further refine the server settings to exclude certain equipment. I would exclude the following: arwen 37, heavy armor, less lethal nova, less lethal M870, M249, and both tasers.
On other servers, these pieces of gear are often the root of many disruptive rounds and detrimental to the gaming experience--especially when there is no admin in the server to monitor the use of such equipment. Because it's rare to have an admin monitoring play, I believe it would separate us from the other servers out there to have these items restricted from use effective immediately.
Does anyone else have any thoughts?

I can't disagree there. Removal of the LL options/shotguns, heavy armour and the use of fast, dynamic play has always been a cornerstone of the way we play in SWAT 4. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't disable those options on the SEF server.
How's the population on the SEF servers anyway? I would imagine it being previously made by a Red Void developer has gotten it some more attention?

I was playing for an extended period with a group of four other players the other day and today there are 2 players in there as I write this response. The more popular servers, due to the longevity of their existence, have been Hades Angels and the two servers set up by the SEF mod team. The names of those servers are SEF Official EU and SEF Official NA. Beyond that, players are bouncing around looking for less lag and their particular style of play.
My access does not allow changes to server settings, so as soon as you can make those kit changes, the better. Thanks again.

PM me once the changes are made and I'll be happy to go check out the server. Thanks!

To update everyone, the Proving Ground 8 server is running SEF version 7.0.
I have heard that a patch may be forthcoming after it gets some serious player evaluations. I'm trying out different weapons and ammo types to see what's good, what's bad, and what's just broken.
The server has been quite populer since we have updated it from 6.4 to 7.0.
