Just a small question, are the servers that SAS use version 1.0 or version 1.6 Raven Shield? I was just wondering because my computer will run 1.0 without a problem, but for some reason when I download the patch and upgrade to 1.6, every time I click on Multiplayer my computer locks up. Just wondering if anyone could help me out with this... of if SAS plays on 1.0 servers too.

Can't run version 1.6
All servers run patch 1.6
Remember that there are a bit different patches for different languages. English, american, german etc. Make you sure you have the right one.
Thanks, I'll try it. I don't really think its a problem with the patch though... The game runs fine except for when I try to play multiplayer.
You said when you click "multiplayer" Your game or computer crash?
If thats the case i would reinstall with a patch from another site.
Yeah... Thats the problem I'm having. The game loads fine and I can do anything else on Raven Shield, but when I click multiplayer my computer locks up so bad that I have to shut the power off to get it to restart.
Hey Skeeter.
After applying the 1.6 patch, disable xfire if you have it and click multiplayer - leave the computer alone for 5-10 minutes if needed, as it is normally slow to load the multiplayer screen anyway.
If this doesn't work then download and install punkbuster http://www.evenbalance.com (required for Rvs multiplayer). Once it is installed enable it in options and try again.
Let me know if this works.

You might also check the MD5 of it, if you still have the patch file.
Thanks, I'm re-downloading the patch right now and punkbuster. I'll let you know when I get it all installed if its working or not
I re installed the patch and I installed punkbuster. Now I can't even open the game. The title screen comes up and then shuts off. I don't understand why my game is acting so stupid...
Re-install the whole game, then patch it.

I've already tried that 2 or 3 times... Every time I do it, I get the same results, my computer locks up and I have to uninstall it and start over. I can't wait til I get a new computer cuz the one I have acts so retarded sometimes... :?
Ok Skeeter, before buying yourself a new PC try the following:
1. Right click on the Raven Shield icon on your desktop. Then left click on "properties."
2. In this new window, locate the "target" bar and add "-norunaway" after ravenshield.exe . If you have installed the game to the default location the entire bar should now read:
"C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\RavenShield\system\ravenshield.exe" -norunaway
3. Click Apply, then ok.
Try this and give feedback.
