The world Language

My vote is other... some thing a bit more better on paper then English but very much like it.

Based on current real world languages, if a new language could not be invented - preferably one based on English, French, German, Spanish, and Russian. Then English would be the best choice.

English is generally favorful for techincial discuessions, infact. If you comment your code in any thing but English you might p**s off a few Programmers ^_^.

Well English is only easy to learn because we hear it constantly in the movies, radio and the media. If that hadn't been the case I doubt it would be on the top 5 list of the easiest learnable languages.

But logically yes English, but then the question would be British, American, Scottish or Irish English? (That discussion could start a world war 3 I think!)

I personally like the sound of Spanish, Italian, Arabic, France and English if spoken with the native tone and I dislike the sound of German, Russian, Chinese and other Asian languages.

I especially like languages that sound cool when spoken with an angry tone. Nothing beats a mad Scotsman or Frenchman cursing!

Also I have always wanted to hear how Danish sounds, but that I will never know I guess. :?

(So I ask does Viking language sound good or bad Lazko? I will even do the honor and curse for you)

Well Viking language sounds better than German (Miles will kill me) But i definately like the sonority of Spanish and French

a stupid question really..damn theres wars going on because we cant agree who owns a bloody patch of water. So i doubt anyone would ever agree on a language.

I think it would be an awful thing to have one language for the whole world. English is of course the generally accepted 'world language'. It's the official language of many commonwealth countries as well as the obvious ones. It's not the language that people speak the most, though.

I always thought English was a hard language to learn, relative to some others. There's too many exceptions to the rule for it to be as simple as some others, but then they're all different in some way. It's probably not a huge problem though as most British people can't speak it properly anyway.

I would have thought Arabic would have been well up there with Chinese, Spanish and English in terms of how many native speakers it has.

Discussing what language we all should speak... well at one time we did speak the same language, and we all know where that got us. "The Tower of Babal"... :roll: So how about gold as the world currency.
Guess I'll choose English - American - with a little Southern Drawl added.
