What Res do you most use?
I've got to old hardware to know!
640x480
800x600
1024x768
1280x1024
1600x1200
I've got a wall for a monitor!
___
I've always ran WinXP as 800x600 since I couldn't stand the looks at 1024x768 (max onthe 15-in) but I've got a 19-inch monitor on the PC-BSD system, I figured since it supported up to 1600x1800 (PC-BSD Defaulted to 1024x768) that I'd give it a try. And Ya know what I like the screen space, but my porr 8mb matrox card does not like it some times. (Pushes it with KDE)
I use anywhere from 1024x768 - 1152x864, computer runs fine with it. I like the smallness of everything
800X600

Be sure you set your screen refresh rate to as high as your monitor and card allows, that is what gives your picture its crispness\clearness.
1024 x 768
only those who will
I have 1280x1024 on a 17" monitor.
1024X768 on a 17" Samsung Syncmaster 753 Digital Flatscreen Monitor
[color=yellow][SAS] 22nd E.V.R. - SAS_VET_EN4CER /[color] Virtus Disciplina Unitas
1280x1024 on the 17" flatpanel
1600x1200 on the 21" CRT

Most of the games I play are either Quake 3 engine or Unreal Engine 2.0 based titles or older so I could max out the res on them to 1600X1200 but I'm not much of a res hog and see no point in going that high as I am more than happy to simply play on 800x600x32. It's easier on my eyes and easier on my aim.
Doom 3 and Quake 4 I can barely push 800x600 smoothly at high Quality but I have no problems playing those at 640x480 if I must.

I have 1024x768 on both monitors. I have a 17in CRT and a 21in CRT. You should try lifting the 21in!!
I geuss Wiz and I (for Windows only) are the only ones that use 800x600 lol.
I know how heavy a 19 inch CRT is so I don't wanta think about the 21 - it'd be oh most like moving my flat screen tv lol
1024x768 here.
17" LCD
i have no use for anything over 17'' so i dont have to think or worry about it, but for you graphics people that need it for some reason thast your problem
