Earlier today I sat in on the mod meeting for Swat 4. Along the way we discussed tasers (among other things), and I fetched the training package that came with my X26. In it, I found a collection of videos on DVD that I transferred to Putfile.com. As the title says, you will want to see these. The First 4 are excellent, and the very first is my favorite. Among them, you really should see- Stun VS. EMD, One tough SOB, and Drive Stun.
Enjoy! (messy order i know)

Awsome. One thing I like about the Tazer is that you can give the suspect a 2nd wave... and a 3rd wave and so on if he doesn't cooporate, since the probe is still stuck in the skin. And it's amazingly effective.
good watching thx for that better then "real" tv
ya leon too bad you cant do that in swat4
also too bad that NJ doesnt use them at all partly due to the cost and the fact that there have been reported deaths due to it being used, sucks for the all NJ PD units

Thanks SJMerge,
Seeing those clips brought back alot of memories. As part of my tactical career I had the opportunity to particpate in one of those Tazer learning days... like some of the clips showed... I rode the wires twice and did the contact stun once. By far the contact stun hurt the most... the wires are a muscle inhibitor... meaning they convulse your muscles so that you cant move.. the sensation is more of displeasure then pain. The contact stun on the other hand... is nothing but pure pain.
If anyone ever has the chance to particpate or get a tazer used on them.. go for it.. you wont regret it... or forget it.

Very interterestng stuff. I really felt sorry for that drunk in the first traffic spot:)
Was looking around for some info, and I found this
Cartridges available up to a maximum range of 35’ [10.66m]. Use of cartridges not authorized by TASER
International will void the product warranty.
I'm glad I got a postiive response with these videos. If I come across anything else I think I can get away with posting, I certainly will. My favorite video by far is the One Tough SOB video. The title pretty much says it all, and if you haven't seen it yet, now's the time.
It just goes to show you, Don't screw with the United States Marine Corps.
Anyone fancy going out tonight and testing this theory

Great videos.
Nice find.

If I wanted to try out the tasers I could just go down town and piss the police off. I think I'll pass.
Theres one problem there Adze, its the UK. You could rob a bank and they still wouldnt tazer you.
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
Wow, remind me to fly to the UK if I ever need quck money.
Of course they wouldn't. Not unless I had a weapon. Which, to be honest, is probably necessary when robbing a bank.
Oh come on you could always use a rubber chicken and the Pull my Finger trick.
based on the video if you are going to disrupt the public by standing in the road make sure you are covered in gasoline or they will have a huge lawsuit against them

Hahha
Great stuff Merge, wish it would have same effect in SWAT4.
Hey, with a little animation help, and some code hacking we could make tasers nock you on your bum.
But I'd like to see handcuffed punks get pushed flat to the deck like in the SWAT3 SAS Mod Collection.
ive never really tried it before but can you shock someone you have just tasered or do you have to relaod it again? if you have to reload again anyway to make it more real where you can shockem as long as you like?
"Game over man." Pvt. Hudson. SAS 22nd E.V.R.
I can make tasers stun for as long as any one wants. Infact tasers effect lasts 3sec for AI (was 1) and Players (was like 12sec).
The only problem with increasing the time used for Taser/Sting/Bang/Gas e.t.c. Is very long times make it so you have to stand around waiting on them before you can cuff'em.
I'll have to test it a bit more in this one.To be sure it wasn't a source code issue in my old mod.
In real life, once the barbs are embedded in the target, each successive pull of the trigger will dispense another EMD pulse of 50,000 volts into the suspect. As long as the barbs remain lodged, more compliance shocks can be administered. If one of the contacts were to come loose, then you can take the cartridge off the weapon, and use the contact stun, driving into the target with the weapon and pulling the trigger. There is no real muscular disruption here, but it hurts like all hell.
K, all very interesting, but what bothers me most is.... Where can I get one?
I could tweak the probe stick time, I can see how to make probe stick time potentially effect shock time but I doubt if it would work without causing more troubles. When the taser probes stick in the wall for an hour
The X26 we get in SWAT is only availble to Law Enforcement, I doubt there are many on the black market for crimeinals ether as it would take a bit of shocking to kill people. And they could just beat the crap out of punchbags instead:)
I believe there is an X26 model manufactured for civilian use, but I have to check my facts on this one, I'll get back to you.
EDIT: Yes in fact there is a civilian model called the X26c, and another model called the M18. Both are legal to carry in most states and countries (Prohibited Use in DC, MA, RI, NY, NJ, WI, MI, HI & certain cities & counties. CT and IL legal with restrictions).
Here is a quick comparison.

You know, our SWAT4 Tasers look more like the M18 then the X26 family.
Which is why I originally called it an M18 Taser in past mod projects instead of an X26
Or be armed with a banana! wink wink nudge nudge
SAS_VET_Centurion. And that is my $.02 Cdn. worth!!! Just because I am 51, does not mean I am old!
USA is sure a crazy country in many ways..
I mean things like these tasers and weapons generally should be illegal to own by private people..
Those tazers come with a flashlight and laser sight, my god they really are sophisticated for use in combat situations.
Well it some times is a good thing.
I remeber some time ago there was something like. 2 Guys in lots of body armor in a shoot out /w police. The cops weapons couldn't put a dent in these guys, it was crazy. So they borrowed a few AR-15s or something from a nearby gun shop.
I might add though, by law if you have a reccord they can not sell you body armor in the US. (Last I checked any way)
You're referring to the North Hollywood shootout between 2 suspects wearing full body armor and the LAPD. The two men had automatic weapons including ak47s and an FN Minimi automatic rifle. The police fired their Beretta 9mm weapons and the bullets would just bounce off of the suspects. Several officers went to a nearby gun shop and borrowed ar-15 combat rifles that would cut through body armor like a hot knife through butter, and they also got shotgun slugs that would at least break bones if they scored a hit. About 40 minutes after the shooting started, 3 SWAT officers arrived on the scene and used theif M4/CAR-15 rifles to take down both suspects. The entire shootout lasted 44 minutes exactly from start to finish, and amazingly nobody but the 2 suspects was killed, although the incident left 19 police officers and civilians injured. The incident prompted the LAPD to purchase new rifles that would combat body armor, and it is now mandatory for every patrol car to carry one in the trunk. SWAT is no longer the only unit that carries these specialized weapons, but we are sure as hell the best with them. I carry a modified M4 in my trunk, as well as a 40mm munitions launcher and several assortments of ammo for it. At my side, there is always a Sig-Sauer .226 pistol. Every SWAT officer has these weapons with him, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pistols are always at the hip, and the guns are always nearby in the trunks of our cars.
i usually go armed with sandwiches and a pack of smokes
Wanna swap for a day Merge?
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
ya and still shocking about that incident is hte fact that none of the rounds offically killed them, one possibly shot himself in the head while the other did sustain around 13 hits and live ended up bleeding to death. it was all caught on tape by helicopters
