Well I have the CD, I don't believe there's any CD-copying protection stuff on it. You just stick it in the drive and play, I haven't ever tried playing MP with a fixed-image, etc. though.
As for the D2D version, I'm not sure, although I have a friend who might be getting SWAT 4 on D2D. If he does, I'll let you know how it goes.

The Swat CD is Securom protected. A uniqe CD-Key is rquired to play online. Ive no experience with D2D so im not sure if i would trust theire service. My suggestion -> buy the CD(s).
Just for your information - We use the addon: SWAT 4 - THE STETCHKOV SYNDICATE on our servers. The both-in-1-pack is called "Swat 4 Gold" i guess...
My only experiences with D2D has been for GR, and fairly positive.
When working with a SecruROM game, it's always best to have the original CD available. D2D often has to use shimmies to get things working correctly with more 'modern' games. The SecruROM used also ensures that you have to patch before using any No-CD cracks. (I have copies of both games bought during the first weeks of release, and use No-CD cracks in order to preserve my $80 worth in disks!)

It's arrived!!
I think it is fair to say SWAT 4 and RvS 3 are on a par in their respective areas.
It's excellent!
