I think it would be a good idea to make it so that it is possible for people
to confirm their participation in certain events like training sessions.
If this is not possible in the module by itself, then maybe provide a link to a forum thread for confirmations in the event's description.
So the event hoster knows how many people are going to participate in his event.
Just a rough idea though.

Even just a tally box, even if you don't know who it is. The person opens up the event and clicks a box 'will attend' and the number increases by one and it's visible to all members. That may be simpler and still be able to be part of the calendar instead of a forum thread. A thread will work. The event creator must add the link to the forum attendance thread and all is good. Requires no coding.
