Site Designed by Wiz

Site Designed by Wiz

I'm sorry, but it blatantly wasn't.

If you must have something like that it should say:

Site Designed by Sinister, Moebius, James, and Wiz

That aside, thanks to those I have played RvS with the last week or two, we have had some good games. Not many names I recognise though, just JB and Spidey.

As per licence James, you are credited within the scripts that you participated in.
As are Moebius, Trig and RIP; Sinister.

Unfortunatly James, you did not design the site as it is today. However as i said above you are given credit, within the scripts, as per the law; where you participated. I have also seen your commented items, and have left them intact.

Because i have not contacted you, i have left your name intact in any areas of the site that i possibly can. I cannot contact Sinister for obvious reasons, but anywhere he is named..it is intact.

Moebius was asked, and is regularly asked about scripts that contain his name.
Trig refuses to answer my Emails.

So, infact We at SAS have broken no laws, we have not discredited anybody.
If you suspect that we at SAS are using something that you wrote, innapropriatly, for the intent that it was not made for, then please contact the authorities.
Please be aware though, the law between Argentina,UK and Australia is very very differant.

As i said..you are credited within the scripts, as per 'etiquate', but you did not design the theme of this site, nor did you design or implement many of the systems that we use today.
If you wish to discuss this further..you know my AOL instant messenger address.

Thankyou.

From where I stand, most of the thanks goes to whoever hacked up this sites old theme (my guess is Trig or Moe). For awhile the default theme was totally different, before work was done on this one. Which at least visually I can tell was styled in the old ones likeness.

A lot of custom stuff that remains, I think was probably here before I ever learned about SAS (cica 2004), like the About us or Tactics stuff. A lot of which looks like it was adopted from the First site (SWAT3 based). I can't say what things looked like when you ran the site. But I can see that Wiz has done a lot to improve this website for us. Most of it people only see lightly. And I don't think any one has complained about the changes he's been directed to make. Some of the work I'm surprised wasn't done sooner.

All I can say about most of the code that has been in inherited from past webmasters and still remains unmodified.... Is who ever did most of it; please don't write more websites, my eyes have yet to stop bleeding !!! My Operation Excalibur and it's plan of action was born of wanting to be free of old tag soup and make maintainability a paramount factor in it's architecture.

Most of the non custom stuff, is contributed as per normal with the websites software afaik.

The first time I read the code to one of the modules, "I felt like who stole this persons space bar". And I've dealt with many languages... Including C and Perl. I don't even want to know what one of the old blocks looked like in side....

If you have any issues with your past work on the site. I'm sure people will be glad to mark its authorship in the file(s) as per normal procedure if you failed to do so or remove the code if necessary.

James. Ive played with you on the server a few times.
Your bahavior and gaming abilities are on a high standard on the
server, so dont pick up a new fight on a thing that could be sorted
out on another forum than this.

It does'nt give you much credit. Private problems should be dealed with
in private and not on public forums.

Greetings [SAS] Officers, SNCO's, NCO's, Troopers and Friends:

Posts of this nature cause nothing but strife and harm. [SAS]_Maj_Wiz has nothing to prove to anyone, least of all a person who is not a member of our organization.

We, the proud and mighty [SAS] know of the great accomplishments [SAS]_Maj_Wiz has achieved to better our organization and our gaming experiences, we need not spend time validating him, WE know what has been done, [SAS]_Maj_Wiz knows what has been done, we merely need to say "Thank You" for a job well done.

I ask the membership to continue their commitments to maintain professional behaviour, to upholding our Code of Conduct. I ask that our membership remember to not respond to malicious comments made by people outside the organization.

I ask that our moderators envoke their authority, as granted by GCHQ, and LOCK or REMOVE threads of this calibre, as posts of this nature produce nothing positive and only seek to create conflict and disruption.

Gentlemen, we are professionals, we are the Mighty [SAS], we need not hear the praise of others to know worth. A great man, leader and friend of ours is quoted as saying...

It is not your words that define your integrity. It is your actions. Your troops will follow your example and be a reflection of your actions. What do you see when you look into the "mirror" you have created?

When I look into my mirror, and the mirrors of those who stand proudly at my side, I see greatness, comradery, dedication, professionalism and extreme efficiency & competancy.

What do you see ?

I have not locked this thread out of respect for [SAS]_Maj_Wiz. I believe fully that this thread should not only be locked, but deleted as it serves no positive purpose. However my Major has made a stand, and I support him fully.

The future of this thread remains his to determine.

No need for the hostility, just pointing out that if you are going to say "Site Designed by:..." then you should say all the people who designed it, not just one. The current site is a mixture of all our work.

How come you treat every suggestion as a threat?

May i Suggest that if you have a grievance regarding SAS WIZ or the Web Admin team then write it in a private forum not in a Public for all to see.

This is totally unprofessional on your part James and i think that you may have lost respect from the members that have replied to your post.

However, credit is given where credit is due, you were involved in the writing of the script of the website for which you have been credited in. The current Web Admin TEAM (notice the Caps James) have worked hard in order to keep the website you help maintained. So instead of moaning about the fact that your name is not visible on the web page is pretty petty and immature behaviour that i would expect from a child not a grown man.

Now i second the comment made by the CO ...........END OF ! Cheers
