Same for me was AVG when i had RavenShield and it was strange because AVG shouldnt affect the game i was only running the standard Antivirus no firewalls or anything.
Crashed immedietely online disabled it and was fine!

Hmm and I had plans to get AVG when I get my rig fixed..... Is there a firewall function in it?
What does the log file say?
Hmm, I will open the log file tommorow when I'm home from work. Not sure i would understand what it says, but if so, I will post it here...hehe
Well its inconvenient to keep shutting it down but AVG is an excellant free antivirus with quick updates i love it wouldnt change it for anything!!
I had good experiences with it too.
RvS is like ghosts in the machine lol
Have you tried to disable one of your cores if you have a multicore processor?
Go to task manager, go to the processes tab, right click the Ravenshield process, click Affinity.
In that menu, uncheck one of your cores.
And for those that are going to say: Rasa you nublet, there's fixes for that I say: I'm quite aware. They just don't work for me.
Hmm, ok I'll keep that in mind, tnx Rasa
The .exe or settings in .ini's were probably modified (do you remember doing that?)
What are your pc specs anyways?
Oh no Grish. I dont dare tuch the ini. files. But I have looked, the old copy file, the one wich works without lag:[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]HighDetailActors=TrueUsePrecaching=TrueUseTrilinear=TrueAdapterNumber=-1ReduceMouseLag=FalseUseTripleBuffering=FalseUseHardwareTL=FalseUseHardwareVS=TrueUseCubemaps=TrueUseCompressedLightmaps=TrueMaxPixelShaderVersion=1UseVSync=True
is different from the new file, the one that has lag but shows gore:[D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]HighDetailActors=TrueUsePrecaching=TrueUseTrilinear=TrueAdapterNumber=-1ReduceMouseLag=FalseUseTripleBuffering=FalseUseHardwareTL=TrueUseHardwareVS=TrueUseCubemaps=TrueUseCompressedLightmaps=TrueMaxPixelShaderVersion=255UseVSync=True
I have no clue what the above means, or can do by changing them. Exept i read something about this in another post.I have downloaded the 177 driver, but has not installed...maybe i will...
Rasa, I have tried disable one of the cores, didnt go any better.
My specs are:Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHzMemory: 2048MB RAMHard Drive: 500 GBVideo Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTSMonitor: SyncMaster 206BW(Digital)Sound Card: SB X-Fi Audio [E800]Speakers/Headphones: Phillips 2/1 and Steelsound 5Hv2Keyboard: Logitech G11Mouse: Logitech VX 1000Mouse Surface:Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Tnx for your help so far.But dont worry, like i said earlyer; i can now play the game. Its just that i dont see gore and bulletimpact
UseHardwareTL=False...Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS...Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Yea, I'm guessing you're having the same problem. The 177 driver should (hopefully) fix it with your new game installation if you want to try it.
Yes the 177 driver did help me out. Everything works smoothly now.No lag, and gore / bullet impact is there.
Thank you Rasa and Grishenko for helping me out.
