Well if you look at his Xfire profile right now ( http://www.xfire.com/profile/ronin446/ ), I don't see anything out of place - was last seen Today, with 35 friends and some videos/screenshots.

Odds are it was a misunderstanding, as I don't see how it would be possible that a virus could be transmitted by accepting an Xfire friend invite or visiting a webpage managed by Xfire. Just visited it myself and no problems.

No problems me neither. As for the server crash, I don't know what has happened but it works fine now.
