I think if we let Israel go and attack when ever they want against iran and al the other places near them i think they are going to kill everyone because Israel got that land from God

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that they lay down their life for their friends.
I don't know what to think about Israel any more, I have nothing aganst them though. I do however recall the incident with the USS Liberty during the six days war. Very rude in my humble opinion.
I don't know what the heck is going on down there in the Middle East and to be honest I don’t even think they do that anymore, it’s just aggression upon aggression totally endless.
I’m not going to pick a side and either should anyone who hasn’t got a slightest background knowledge of the whole situation, its way too old and complicated for that.
Eagle_1 saying Israel got there land from god isn’t very smart to say in a public forum, even though it was just for fun, this is the kind of stuff that makes people go berserk all around the world.
Ridicules it is, but nonetheless its true.
I think that Eagle1 has touched one of the basic principles of the sitution. We all know that jews have been persecuted over the years, cumulating during the second world war under Hitler.
The world (U.N...) has always been reluctant to take action against them, because of their historic victim role
TBH, I believe that SOME COUNTRY will end up a crater and many innocent civilians will be lost. Just like Wiz said, the boiling point has been reached.
As far as I know, fighting in the middle east dates back to bibical times.
At least to the Crusades, but I do remember hearing that its been going on for about 2000 years. Not too sure on that fact though.

Uhh, replace god with the UN. But thats the problem. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all have their roots in that area. So, although yes, YOUR god says that land is Israel's. But in history, that land was taken from the Muslims in the area and given to the Jewish. If some people I didn't know came and took my land and religious center and told me this was going to people I dislike, I would be pretty pissed. I'm not trying to defend the extremists, but it is an easy position to understand.
Its still scary. I'm getting a sort of WW1-esque feeling here. Someone's gonna die and drag the rest of the world into a long, deadly war. Then again, I still have to worry about crazy Kim Jong il testing his missiles on the US instead of declaring war on the Sea of Japan.
There has been a wave of anti-israelism breaking over Europe now, but it seems to be on its return, following terrorism not only toward Israel but also bombings of several European cities..
Looking at the map, Israel is the only democracy in the region. But that doesn't give them carte blanche towards neighbouring states either.
I don't really know what to make of the situation. On the one side I can't imagine living in a country that is the constant victim of terror attacks not only by extremeists, but that the neihboring countries refuse to acknolege as exisiting and insist on its destruction.
Tapping into what eagle said the Israely government is fately flawed in that it is religisoly linked. In the US people get very mad when religion and law are forced seperate for seemingly silly reasons, but its what keeps us from turning our religous ideals into foreign policy.
I had hoped that the neihboring nations were on a good road to peace, I am saddened that kidnappings and Iranian deep strike missles have forced Isreals hand. I just hope there is a way out of this that wont end in blooedshed and more antiwest feelings.
If anyone hasn't seen the video of Bush talking to Blair, I suggest you watch it. It's hilarious. Just in case you needed any further proof that Bush is three sheets to the wind. (Not likely)
I've heard that the israelies are after the return of 2 troops. For as much logic as my ma has, I can't say if thats current or the instigation of conflict.

Hope it comes to an end in a good way.

If things in Israel are anything like in the Old Testiment, in their mind that might be why they are getting into stuff.

The Middle East problem is difficult...

I think it might be closer to 3,000 or 4,000 minimal. Needless to say people have always killed each other in [recorded] history.
Fury's got a point.
And I wonder if they're like Fury and I, if we aimed for Japan we'd be lucky to hit the Sea of Japen too@!

Well it was going to happen one way or another. I just hope that the U.S. doesnt get into it.
The U.S. is definately involved in it...my friend, believe it.
All I'll say to that is that America can be much like her mother when it comes to sticking her nose where it dosn't belong.
Too true.
So far they have only reported to British ships and 500 RM in the area, but i could swear thats an entire US Navy battlegroup nestling off Cyprus.

My prefered news reader dosn't work on Windows
I'll bet any of you $10 that Israel makes a serious attempt at an invasion within the next 7 days.
Should you win, your $10 is conditional on you purchasing me four beers and will be provided in Tesco vouchers.
Land troops have already entered james, that was yesterdays news
