Shield is the man to talk to. Seeing as he is on the development council for this game.

Well I geuss they can't get any worse then lockdown... So hoorah for R6 part V !
actually it can. there has been very little info made public about the game other then the devs are forced to say nothing, LD was a bust that wont even get one patch for it. this game maybe made by those that made rvs but due to the fact that the r6 series is no longer a tactical shooter and a casual gamers game it will never be what is once was for some time if ever again.

Rainbow Six is turning into the next "Rocky". Enough is enough. Each time they change it, it gets lamer and lamer and they show no interest in making the game better for Co-opers. They really need to change the AI to be more realistic instead of just dragging out the same old pistol snipers from Rogue Spear, which was the last real upgrade in the game.

1 thing determines games, and it is not playability; CASH
Unfortunatly even though there is a vast amount of PC gamers, Console is where the largest wedge of cash comes in. You will never see a typical [SAS] on the console, why? because the console gamer is after fast action, cheap thrills and a laugh with his mates that are around for a few beers, thats why they are good for games like FIFA, and PGA and not R6

If you're getting a revolutions console:
Red Steel is all I'm going to say.
Rainbow Six Critical Hour expansions that's out on Xbox and soon on PC tried to appeal to the hard core fan base by going back to Rainbow Six classic movement and speeds along with weapon treatment but sadly the AI is still crappy and the levels are still too linear to make the change back to tatics worth a notice. I'm just glad I can't run down a hallway at full speed and pull near 100 percent accuracy on targets once more.

Reminds me of Quake 4 online with a Dark Matter Gun.
OH THANK THE HEAVENS! Those ss's are absolutely beatiful and I think Ubisoft realized what a flop RS4 was. Ohhh my goodness need I get started on the compiled disaster of coding they call a game?! Bleh! I'm excited!
I just watched the "Realism" trailer for lockdown.
What a disgrace, if they worked that hard to make it realistic they must've sent the coffee boy to listen to the pros and then get it third hand from his girl friend for as much realism as I saw in the demo they really must've had deaf ears or bad programmers.
Hopefully the new GR game for PC will be good. Will be nice to have a good and fresh coop game to play. I just purchased a copy of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Anyone playing it, I have read that coop is decent in the game. Give me a shout and maybe we can hook up in some online play.
surfy ss are bad things to gage a new game especially if they are really good graphic quality. i also wouldnt get your hopes up in the mindset that ubi learned their lesson as i think that r65 will be the game as LD or worse and not better. supposibly Ding and Clark are no longer in the newer games and the team has been cut down to three rookies. r6 is an international team, so why is the next game going to be solely based in Vegas and with only 3 rookies? so far everythign that has been presented to me on this game makes me more sick and I am finally coming around to the notion that Ubi wants R6 to die or they sold out in this area.

Maybe they are 3 rookies that just got on the team, and they hijacked a C-5 to Vegas to play cards all nite when terriorsts storm the casino hahahahahhahahahaa
Its a terrible move by UBI as the Tom Clancy franchise is worth millions to them, especially Rainbow Six. Why would they want it to die, they either have a terrible group of directors or yes they wish to kill it off or make it more arcadey. The video game business is becoming more like "get as many games out there" to make more money. Shame real shame.
an offical statement from ubi once said that we wish to take the r6 franchise and move it more towards the casual gamer compared to the hardcore gamer, only hardcore gamers play tactical shooters for any length of time. ubi was saying that rvs was too complex for the casual gamer, so yes they dont care who they hurt anymore so long as it makes money. look at ea game they shill out crap for games and people complain and moan about them, but people still buy them so there is no stopping it really unless they start losing lots of money.

wow shield u really put my fire out there haha...that really does sound like its going to suck from the way you explain it....and no...don't get me wrong...i dont judge games off of screen shots. because if you ask me....i thought lockdown looked pretty good visually. but the gameplay...AI...and physics just sucked balls. gameplay + graphics is what makes the game for me. you see while ive been away from you guys ive been droping tons of money into my pc and i have an SLi rig now and u know...when you put a ton of money into something that produces eyecandy...you really get excited about the new games that look good. youre thinking oh man my pc can handle that it will look so sweet! but in the mean time if the game isnt fun...it takes all the glory out of the looks. so i totally agree with you. or as they say...don't judge the book by its cover right?
Facts:
Rainbow Six leader John is now retired and Ding is now promoted to Rainbow Six status.
Vegas is not the sole location of the game. It's the code name referencing around a gamble of sorts, if it's a pun off of the attempt to fix the stigmata around Rainbow Six after Lockdown or an ingame situation I can't tell.
The console editions will focus on a new four man team lead by your own avatar. Not sure about the PC edition (if one happens).

you sure? dev talks explain the game as a great new way as they have one location to play with so they can reuse textures and concentrate more on the area rather hten making a large amount for several locations
"Game over man." Pvt. Hudson. SAS 22nd E.V.R.
Rainbow Six (R6), Black Six (Lance 1; Merc Company 1; MW4:M).
Just why I ask is the leader usually assigned the # six so often in things it's clearly not corisidence??
*Shrug* it's what OXM had covered, and considering OXM's coverage on Lockdown was pretty air tight I've got to go with them more. Dev discussions straight up could be truthful (only studios I know who are truthful is Capcom and Dynamix), or could be a total decoy with promo shots backing the "crediablity" of the decoy while really working on the core true game in the shadows (A tatic that Bungie and VALVe is known for).

We will just have to wait. And see.

Iell be surprised, these so called tactical games are getting naff. I dident mind Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter demo though. Recon should be getting it today, hope it works for him.
All good things come to an end. As far as i am concerned the Rainbow Six franchise ended with Athena Sword, whatever else Ubi Soft decide to produce will be solely designed to intake as much money as possible. Fortunately i think there will be something that will replace it, after all for every Quake IV and Doom 3, someone, somewhere will come up with a F.E.A.R.
To be honest i'm content just to play Raven Shield at the moment and I never gave Lockdown a second look....or even a first look come to think of it.

It's not all bad news, because as you all say the 'tactical' games at the moment are a bit rubbish, which means there is a gap in the market, which means the first really good tactical game to come along will earn its maker a ton of money.
Welcome to the free market, there will be a good tactical game sometime soon.
I think that what Konami intended
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
Yeah, but each one that fails makes more room for a really good one to come in and take the world by storm.
(btw The Regiment is a great game, just lacks some things it needs before we could adopt it)
B.T.W. What kind of server / general player population is there in day to day T.R. Gaming?
little to none i think
"Game over man." Pvt. Hudson. SAS 22nd E.V.R.
Your absolutely right me and wiz had a game the other night and there was COUGH 2 servers.
Again a Shame but hey they dident promote it or release it in america. :ohwell:
They should've released it in China for a low low low price. Then we'd have a few billion servers going ^_^
