NO@SF - Defense wins championships won't be true this season if you look at teams like NE, GB, and NO. SF defense and Frank Gore will need to be perfect for the 49ers to win this one. I think Brees and the Saints have been too hot as of late, so I'm going with them on the road.

NYG@GB - Like NO the Giants have been real hot as of late and the GB defense is actually quite overrated. Last time they played each other, Rodgers barely edged out Eli. I think the difference maker may be the Giants running game and their tandem of Bradshaw/Jacobs, I'm taking the underdogs, but GB's Lambeau advantage will make it close.

Voted for the saint, out of all the teams the saints have the best chance at winning.

New Orleans is like New England in many ways. Great offense and no defense. I pick the Saints to edge out the 49'ers, but I think it could go either way. I think this will be the best game of the weekend, though both NFC games should be great to watch.

The Giants have been playing tight defense and have been running the ball very well and have gotten the big passing play when needed. The Packer defense is terrible. I think it may even be worse than New England's when you consider that NE has given up fewer points by bending and not breaking in the red zone. GB just doesn't seem to be peaking right now and will struggle with the Giants.

In a NO vs NYG match-up, the clear edge goes to NO and they should earn a trip to the Super Bowl.

I have to vote Packers with their incredible season. Furthermore, I think they will win the super bowl.

Wow 14-0 49ers already...SF is taking all the right steps in order to ensure victory right now - forcing mistakes out of the Saints offense and then taking advantage of them. There's definitely still time for the Saints, especially with their high octane offense - but my original pick before the postseason (then I changed my mind I guess cause of last week) for the NFC Champs were the 49ers, perhaps defense wins championships IS true this season? Lol

And as I am writing this, a 3rd Saints turnover on a kick return - 49ers get the ball again in the red zone. First quarter isn't even over yet - the next 3 quarters will be interesting to watch and see how Brees & the Saints offense responds.

Anyone catch the Saints/49ers game? WOW is all I can say. The 49ers did everything perfectly (at least in terms of how their team is molded), forcing 5 turnovers by the best offense in the NFL, not making those same mistakes on offense themselves, and then taking advantage of those Saints mistakes. The Smith-to-Davis connected certainly helped as well.

They're going to be playing similar types of offenses down the road (GB/NYG next week, and if they make it there presumably NE in the Super Bowl), if they can apply these keys to success again in those games, I have no doubt they can win it all.

They say the NFC West is weak...but hey - Seattle in 2005, Arizona in 2008, and now San Fran in 2011. I wonder who voted for the 49ers in the poll Lol

I knew the Niners had a good chance to pull off the upset. I still feel the GB vs NY game will close, GB offense will be too much to keep up with. NY needs turnovers and must gets points from them. Niners look tough right now.

This is a tough one - and is shaping up to be another good game, just like the NFC's two divisional games.

As much as I love what Jim Harbaugh has done in San Fran (coming from a Seahawks fan) - great defense that is forcing turnovers from top-tier offenses, reliable running game, and a QB that isn't making any mistakes. The thing is that wasn't even enough to beat the Saints - Alex Smith can't just be mistake-free, he needs to be better than that, like making good throws to Vernon Davis and Davis making great catches.

The reason I pick the Giants is the key to winning the Super Bowl, they are getting hot at the right time (yet again). Sure we felt the same for the Saints last week, but unlike the Saints the Giants aren't one-dimensional. They can pressure the QB and their running game is looking better than it did in the regular season.

The 49ers will need Alex Smith to be right on top of his game again and the Giants need Eli to be as mistake-free as possible (unlike Brees last week). It'll be close and it could really go either way, but I trust that the Giants will unlock their keys to victory better than the 49ers.

Oh and sorry for those who were hoping for a Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh Super Bowl. Lol

Ok, I got owned with my prediction that GB would win the super bowl. Now I have to pick the 49ers seeing how well they played against the Saints.

Should be a good game, but watch out for the Giants. They are looking better than they have all year. The niners will play tough defense, but are not heavy point scorers. Same reason I chose NE over Baltimore, is why I pick NY over SF. It's the year of the Quarterback in the NFL. The QBs who play better will advance.

The reason why GB and NO are out is because their big-time QBs choked!
Manning and Brady were calm and focused last weekend. That should not change this weekend.

A repeat of 2008 Giants Patriots is a distinct possibility. I hope the Pats can do better this time!

Voted 49ers but it's too close to call, looking at their record.

Giants edge out Niners in overtime 20-17. They will face New England two weeks from now in the Superbowl.
