New President elect

Yesterday the people of the United States voted and their voice was heard.
Barack Obama was elected to the highest office of public servitude. The Presidency of the United States... While I voted for John McCain I will have faith in the majority with hope and prayer for the new President. Only time will tell if his legacy will be great. Never before have so many people come out and had their vote counted. It is a great morning here and I pray that we enjoy 4+ years more. Sniff sniff sniff I smell the winds of change in the air.
I hope God will bless the new President with wisdom and temperance.

Well Said JB!
I would have voted for Obama myself, but I too feel this is an era of change.
Unfortunately, I feel this post will also attract a forum war over a subject this close to many peoples heart.

Well, It was Coke or Pepsi....
I use to drink nothing but Coke, but I find myself drinking more Pepsi...Hmmm

I also believe the Mass Turn-Out of Votes is due to a Younger Generation of Voters looking for a Younger Candidate with Fresh Ideas...

Coke w/ Lime anyone?

Skip the coke, pass the rum ^_^

We've moderators and the Majors general enforcement of no politics (which I agree with) to guard against forum wars hehe.

I hope God will bless the new President with wisdom and temperance.

amen. Voted for, against, or abstained, he's soon to be President of the USofA.

Congratulations USA!

Personally I favoured McDonalds McCain, but hey, Obama seems like a responsible person.

And Spawn I KNOW you voted Reagan back in the day hehe. And perhaps even Nixon?

To hopefully reduce the risk of fanning the fires of a flame war, I'm not going to go into any details, but I am pleased, and I believe that Obama has a real chance of bringing the change our country so desperately needs to be brought back into the folds of what makes Western Democracy so great.

Unless the borders are drawn on a globe for shape recognition, the majority of Americans can't locate the USA on that globe.

The majority of Americans believe that when you take meat out of the freezer you are "unthawing" it.

Just because the majority believes something to be true doesn't mean it's correct, nor does it make it correct--no matter how many times you assert it to be true.

All we can do is to just hope that, in this instance, the majority got it right.

I've always prided myself in my ability to cast emotion aside, look at the facts, and make an informed decision. This election was the most emotionally-charged in our lifetimes. Unfortunately, decisions made on emotion are seldom the right ones. Again, I pray the majority got this one right.

In the end, America got what it asked for. Let's hope we each really understood what we asked for when we colored in the circles on those ballots.

Most of them probably couldn't even color within the lines.
