First of all I want to apology to all of you for my unannounced full-month absence. My unannounced absence comes with several reasons however.
Two weeks ago some Balkanistani extremist individuals attempted to take my life away, and not once. Needless to go into much detail, it was a nightmare I surely wont forget for a long time. The whole insanity movie-like experience ended in my favor in the end. The individuals in question were tracked down and dealt with by the local authorities and Macedonian army. As a result and out of precaution I and my design team had to take immediate flight back to Russia where I spent a full week under heavy surveillance and guarding due to the possibility of renewed attacks. I couldn't use internet whatsoever not on my workstation, my test systems, my phone neither over the encrypted disposable cell phone I was given for immediate communication, thus I couldn't report back in time.
So why was I attacked? Some of you may or may not know that I worked across the Balkans (often traveling and mostly residing in Macedonia where I have relatives) the area itself is ripe with sectarian violence on a daily basis, I could never however imagine I would become a target. It turns out that after a broad investigation the attacking individuals found my religion (Christianity) my color (White) and anti-terrorism stance (My presence all over the internet communities and local links) a thing they can't tolerate with their jihadist beliefs and radical islam rules.
I will just go on and say that I am very lucky to stay alive and that my deep dislike towards Balkans deepened even further as the individuals come from multiple communities across the balkans. Nobody from my side got seriously injured except that several members of my design team went under extreme stress and suffered minor injuries (Including me) during escapes. As for the culprits, they won't do any harm to anyone ever again.
After things restored to normal and I was given a green light and a pdw from authorities, I resumed my work first in Russia and then back in Macedonia on a new location close to a local base where I am much safer now.
As a saying goes - What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
This world is a zoo, but I sure won't ever back down.
Thanks for all your PM's and emails, I couldn't read them however they had to be erased so if you wish feel free to re-send them.
I am very glad to see this forum again and I hope to see you on the PG soon.
