I 2nd the vote on the name

Is there somewhere else you would like us to post this type of content?

No-one expects James to do any more than he can handle.

I for one, would be upset if he made anything other than School a priority

Don't forget, Twisted knickers make for a/an (fill in the blank) Biggrin

(Of topic).
Don’t think no one expect him to make these things immediately. It is just a reminder of those things that need to be fixed in the future.

And lets keep this forum clean. Biggrin

As it's available on the Forums, and hopefully the revisions will be aproved by GCHQ before next year.

Could you ad the SWAT4 SOP's to the Tactics Section / SOP's?? (On the website)

Btw; has any one ever thought of a Unifing the SOP's? After all the only major diffrence between R6 and SWAT is RoE in that we have to Arrest more people, and equipment & loadout stuff. And that could still be done in one pdf by noting what applies to each game diffrently; i.e. RoE + SWAT Use of Force e.t.c.

The basic training document we have is the closest to a unified SOP. I agree that tactics shouldn't be too different between games. My concern would be that because of the difference between the two games, in controls, setup, teams etc, making one SOP to cover both could end up in one massive heap of paperwork, full of exceptions and little side notes to accomodate for each game. Anything that would make a document more complicated isn't good.

If, however, it could be done in a way which makes each document more simple than before, I think it should be looked into.

As I see the SOP's, I see them as a mix of Common Sense and unit sop's (i.e. not every unit in the army does everything the same way.)

Think, how you run through a mission; it's all logical how we do it. I only see a few major diffrences that matter to the SOP fields we have now.

Stuff such as element formations, movement, stacking, clearing, planning, e.t.c. is all the same at heart. But loadouts, tacaids, RoE e.t.c. would require diffrent sections or 2 files. SWAT's weapons and equipment systems are diffrent, both in effect and distrubition but the idea is the same. RoE that we have in SOP's now works fine, except in swats case they don't have the legal authority to function "Green Light" most times.

Maybe you could update the Code of honour, and include SWAT 4 in it, and maybe even leave out SWAT 3 (as no-one plays it anymore).

Rasa,

We still play SWAT 3 and IMO its loads better than 4. I still enjoy playing the game, even though you cant get dedicated servers for it..

We do play SWAT 3? But that wasn't my point.

But anyway, if we don't include that we also play SWAT 4, this site will look outdated. The "About us" Section needs updating too.

Yes as do parts of "Tactics" and "Join Us"

If I had better then bots to play with (meaning no SAS MOD for better Officer AI support of Comms), jerks that call serious Tactics what is 10x worse then the worst to ever set foot on our servers in S4 (About as make you cringe at stuipidily as some RvS people who have been kicked/banned from TG1/2) and my ISP Router that they, and my landlord won't touch and I can't blocking some ports and making it laggy.

If the above was diffrent ^ You would only see me on SWAT3.

Today's bug-fix. Some of you will have noticed that when you receive a new PM, you get an email telling you so, and giving you a link. The link has never worked. Now it does.

Used to work for me, but that was before I was in SAS when I last used the link.

Hello James,

On our Home page.. where we have posted relevant info about various things... could we remove the News Bulletins that are no longer valid.

For example, Moe and Noah are not making the Realism Mod anymore. Work stopped awhile ago. Also, Server # 2 is SWAT 4 and has not been Iron Wrath for quite sometime.

Those two can be removed for sure.

Thanks.

While you mention it, this could use some correction to. Exspecially since the first to paragraphs really sum up the team - and the 3rd about recruitment has typo/grammermatical/logical erroring to it from the last edit. (underlined)

Welcome to the home of [SAS], the virtual Special Air Service Regiment. Based on the British Army's SAS, who represent the spearhead of modern day special operations teams.

[SAS] are a group of serious, tactical minded gamers. The squad was created for those who enjoy turning off from the real world and playing tactical games in a virtual military environment. This includes the use of realistic weaponry, tactics, training and ranks.Of course the main aim of the clan is for members to have good laugh while improving their skill and playing great games.

If you would like to be part of something special and if you believe you have the potential to perform at our level, then we please take a moment to submit an application form and spend some time with us online, we cover a variety of games but are centred around R6: Raven Shield and SWAT4 where we have dedicated game servers. You'll soon get a feel for our gameplay.(online message board) and make an introductory posting, or you could just pop in for a game or two in any of our servers.

We invite you to help us create our vision, and be apart of a unique team of tactical players in a fun environment.

Are you ready for the challenge?

The website actually has a videos section, perhaps our training/liveop videos should be put there as well or at least linked too from there.

(this post should be stickied too)

The problem with updating accounts occurs with people who have imageshack images in their signatures.

Specifically, any signature containing the string "dot images" which occurs when you have a URL pointing to "http://img106 *dot* imageshack.us" this problem occurs. In this case, "dot images" occurs as part of the link to your photo at imageshack. Even in this post, I cannot actually write "dot images" properly with a dot because then I can't submit my post.

The solution is simple, host the image somewhere else.

For the techies here, what actually happens when you press submit with that anywhere in your signature, is that your browser sends the request but specifies that it will only accept image data in return. Of course the server wants to send back a webpage and cannot sensibly send an image. I don't know why this is but it seems like a bug in the web browser (both IE and AOL do this).

An interesting problem for sure. Just host the images somewhere else.

try this in the .htaccess file of the root

<IfModule mod_security.c> SecFilterEngine Off # try the first one alone then disable the post scan as well if that doesnt work SecFilterScanPOST Off </IfModule>

you should also foreward this error to the hosting provider, they can look at the logs and see exactly why the server is spitting back a 406 error it could be something as simple as the wrong chmod value on some random file(ie777)

Well, I used a packet sniffer, and the initial outgoing POST request from the browser specifies Accept Type and lists all the image formats, and not text/html for example. A 406 is a totally reaonable response, an image was requested but none can be provided. To that extent I don't see how it could possibly be the host's fault, as it is surely the server can't influence the initial http POST request sent by the browser.

Well the problem is it isn't browser specific, Ive tried it on Safari, Operah, Firfox, and IE, and It doesn't occur regularly in instances of phpbb. It is more likely a handling return error in part of the script on the page and its interaction with the website. If your sure its not a problem with your host mod security settings then this should definatly go into the PHP-Nuke bug database.
