I have fixed the forum access, except that those wanting Trp and Rct level access will have to wait slightly longer until I figure out a few more things.
I have fixed the slow-loading homepage problem by shutting down the SWAT block. Could those who use SWAT supply me with the new IP for the SWAT server please then I can put it back up.

The TeamSpeak box, unable to leave its bed for many months, has been revived, and had it's bugs fixed. After getting it working, there was a bug with displaying names with spaces in them, but I think I've fixed that. It is possible that some names may still display incorrectly so please report any that you notice. I have put it above the server status, because it tells you instantly which members are where, but I'm open to suggestions if you think that's a bad idea.
I also got rid of the forum most recent posts box, which was voted out.
Yes I think there was a temporary problem this morning. I assume it was just either congestion on our site or congestion at the hosts. I don't think there's anything I can do about that.
You may have noticed a bug with the forums. When at the forum list, or a forum contents page, when you move the mouse over a title, the box hilights. The bug is that when the box highlights, you may see in your browser's status bar that it is loading "http://www.sasclan.org/themes/Blackened/images/block_back.jpg". It would load this every time you move the mouse over a different box.
I discovered that the address of the image was spelt wrongly though, with the result that it caused a MASSIVE 250,000 "404 Not Found" errors per month. One for every time someone moved their mouse over a different box.
I have finally traced the problem and fixed it. 250,000 is a lot of 404 errors. For those who don't know, a 404 error is what a server sends to your browser, when a file is requested which does not exist (including ones whose addresses are spelt wrongly).
Higher ranking forums get checked marked. I click it, to try and make the check-mark go away(not really, I want to see if it lets me in), I get the message, your not cleared, then later on sometime, it removes itself. "Officers Mess" is checked right now. The others do it on a regular basis.
I just ignore the unread thing as part of those forum groups; and note the activity in those forums in my head. I also start my sweap of the forums from top to bottom i.e. I start at the this forum & work my way up to chitchat.
The ones I am not allowed in, the ones I do not post in, the ones above NCO, and even NCO, when I was a Trp, have blue check-marks, like the normal forums I post in.
Shield, since you can get in all the forums, they should have blue check-marks for you, they also have blue check-marks for me, even tho I can't get in. This was a fix-it post ,so I just mentioned it. No big deal, really.
Yes I see what you mean. Best thing is probably to just ignore it. I will look into how easy/hard it would be for me to prevent the hilighting of forums you can't get into.
perhaps your should remove the forums people dont have access to from that groups view? Not sure why this wasn't done I assume there is a reason but If not its something to be considered
I agree also. This wasn't a complaint. I didn't know if it could be fixed or not. It doesn't bother me, one way or the other. I would rather see all the forums, and take a little glitch.
What about adding the data on some Live Ops to the Live Ops page, I would think it would be easy enough if you linked it to the page we'd get while doing the Live Op briefing isntead of adding a hole new page.
Yeah getting the LiveOps section of the site updated is something I'm thinking about too. What I would like to achieve is a web interface where anyone can put in their own Live-Op briefing. But that will be quite a lot of work so I might do it while I've got some time in December.

I have fixed the problem where The Mighty profiles of people without medals would display incorrectly.
I got the new SWAT server IP, so the SWAT box is up and running again, without causing a delay to you loading the website.
I do belive that is the most replies to one self I've seen j/k.
WELL DONE JAMES!
Nice job
SAS_Vet_Relish

Exelent work on the TS James!, postblock wasn't needed anyway and asuming everyone thats on is on TeamSpeak its a great idea!
Also doncha think its time to change the survey poll about Moe? lol its been months.
I have altered the layout of the SWAT info box to make it a) smaller, and b) more consistent with the RvS info boxes.
Also fixed the SWAT server "more info" page.
The Rcts and Trps now have correct forum access. New Trps please read the email I sent you in relation to this.
Ello James, if you havent noticed..
The Site and the forums is slow again.

There seems to be an error in the birthdays, see Leon_orig

There was another SAS_Leon from the old days. That must be him. The date is obviously screwed up though, I'll try and fix it.

I conclude that good spelling is important.

only those who will
yes before only forums a person was permitted to enter were visable, but then it changed.

I meant why are they checked?
only those who will
the blue check means that there is a new post that you have not seen, the grey one means there are no new posts, is this what you meant?

I think it was done like that so people can see how we're organised. It looks good to have those extra forums visible.
I agree it does.
