LOL all. And Medic I never forget all of you nice people. You are very good people and make me feel at home. That is why I spend so much time with you all. Even when Valroe is not around. SHhhhhhhhhhhhh. don't let Val that I spend time with ya when he's not around. He might become jealous. Hehehe
My aim is to buy TSS now !! even though RVS is superior lol.....but a question whatever happened to TG2 i know that we used it to replace TG 1 when it crashed. but where is the replacement ?
Theres a simple fact, none is perfect on its own. But I must say of all I've played -- SWAT3 is the best. RvS & SWAT4 is ok though.
The Suspects were often found trying to find a hiding space or barricaded. Or guarding hostage or looking for people to kill. Civi's had a distintive feeling of being cought in the middle of a firefight and trying to get out of it alive.
S3 AI was awesome, pretty random placement and some fixed-location hostages/tangos from time to time. Civi's would often compromise you when you tried to arrest them. Loved to pop doors open and then surrender.
Hi cal FMJ Bullets could go through walls !!!!
The AI's were tunable and modifiable. Mod system was awesome.
Damage system was nice, but latency breaks it.
Best V-Coms ever -- no need for TS at all IMHO and a few keybinds or a Mod to round it out. Keybinding was built in to a custom section of the v-com. And you could include your own sound bites!
Maps veried from the small to the huge. Like smaller then the foodwall to as larger then Import-Export and Mogadishu Mile.
You could take 2 types of ammo, usually FMJ or JHP for most. A version of the M4 had a Beanbag option. You had Buckshot & breaching slugs for SG. And you could swap ammo types in the middle of the game by chaning mags!!
And the EL could issue orders threw helmet cams ONLINE -- TSS can only do that in single player. Abit via a more useful if much less realistic system.
We got an SDK with the only patch (allows mod making). For one reason.
The company pawned the project off to another dev team to 'finish' it and charge another $30 for it (ala TSS). And that team needed a quick & dirty way to do it. --> S4X aka S4:TSS is basically implemented as a mod for SWAT4. So we got to benifit from an SDK for each.
SWAT4 seems to have been a mixture of half rear ended working and highly rushed work IMHO. SWAT3 had connections to the LAPD -- SWAT4 does not have much at all to do with them and is set in NYC instead. If I recall, I think some where in the UnrealScript theres comments about whose turn it is to get pizza or some thing...
But they dumped all the old good stuff... keeping just enough to 'pass' as a sequal. And make extra money on the name.
SWAT3 was supported a lot longer then SWAT4 was.... its crap what they did to us.
The graphics weren't all that good by todays standards but a lot of the movements were motion captures of SWAT officers I've heard
haha, christ this topic got a lot of responses.
And dont worry B, im not gonna play any less RVS
The affection Rasa have for me is undefinable...

Well so I tried TSS, and it was fun. But yes Sniper, I agree with you....

Medic
Guys, RvS is not superior, if we're talking about realism. I mean, the tangos are constant quickdraw and they scripted... SCRIPTED I tell you!
Yeah,- Medic - it was great fun...
...especially on TS!
Did you find the rocket-launcher in the meantime...
"What's the plan?
Track'em, find'em, kill'em!"
En no I didn't, not any tanks either.
But fun it was yes.....

Medic
Do i need TSS to come to the TG 3??
Greetz Raider
I think so
Yes

Spidey what you are describing here is absolutely insane! How come so much of those SWAT3 features didn't come with SWAT4 TSS!

SWAT 3 was awsome!
I installed it about 2 weeks ago...
...and was "shocked" of the poor old graphic.
Also I have played uncountable hours in earlier times...
...now I am just used to the fine scroll-menue for commands in TSS.
It was a good time...
...but everything comes to an end someday.

Because SWAT4 was half finished when it shipped.

Do you guys remember SWAT 1?? Haha, that was a great game=)
I don't know about SWAT 1, but here's a screenshot of SWAT 2
Looks like a lot of fun
Reminds me of Full Spectrum Warrior.
