Hi there. I've been playing on the SAS RvS servers on and off for quite a while now but have resisted registering on the forums.
However, my new PC doesn't like Raven Shield very much and sometimes randomly crashes, usually right after a round finishes. That happened this evening while I was having a great game with Eder, and unfortunately by the time I had rebooted he was gone. So I actually really registered in the hopes he was here and I could apologise for suddenly vanishing mid-sentence
Anyway, many of you will have seen me around the servers, so I'll introduce myself a bit.
I'm a 25 year old South African student in Glasgow, UK. I mostly play Raven Shield to get a break from the main game I play, which is World of Warcraft, in which I'm both a guild and raid leader. As such I enjoy the challenge and solitude of an empty server and am generally better at playing alone or in a loose team where everyone takes care of an important aspect of the level's strategy. This means I'm generally rather uncomfortable in elements or "team A/team B" play, though I try to do my best when asked. As most of the time I spend in WoW is playing in large, carefully coordinated groups of very focused people, you can see why I enjoy the loneliness and freedom of Raven Shield
I'm also quite an intense gamer and prefer serious, fast and highly-skilled gameplay... but having said that, I play solely for fun and don't have much patience for either taking things too seriously or being too silly.
(Though I have indulged in the occasional shotguns-and-frags-only presidio hostage rescue  )
I'm also rather a verbose person by nature, which is why this introduction is five times longer than any others you'll see on this forum.
Greetings, although I've seen worse uses of the --verbose switche before lol.
Cheers
Welcome... good intro.
And you're not the only one from SA in here hehe.
Hang on to our servers, and you will understand and like the concept of playing in elements / teams

Track'em, find'em, kill'em!"
Actually, my nickname is just 'CiM', but it's too short for the forum registration so I appended "Fancy" to the front (from my WoW guild name, which is Fancy Hat Club).
Thanks for all the welcomes! Good to see some names I recognise on the forums.
I'll clarify that I do "understand" the concept of playing in elements/teams, it's just I (currently) prefer not to for the reasons I already posted! So I guess that makes me a bit of an oddball on the SAS servers. Nevertheless I do try to either fit in, stay out of the way or just use another server when other folk are using elements or strict team play. It's not that I'm totally opposed to that kind of play - as you'll often see me take up a sort of fluid element-style approach to giving backup to someone who needs it - it's just that I already spend a large amount of my free time in any given week indulging in very highly coordinated team play in World of Warcraft. And usually it's coordinated by myself, so yeah.
I know, what a freak huh? Here is a Haiku:

strangely relaxing with friends;
stick it to the man.
Haha, you really are a little chatterbox CIM
Nice Haiku there m8
