An informative description, by the design team, is posted online: Firing Squad which leads me to believe that this game has the possibility to be of interest to SAS and the probability to either fall on it's face or bring more gamers into the Cooperative Teamplay Tactics fold. The third option is that it will generate a new, but lazier teamplay type that avoids the training that marks SAS as the best. On the positive side, it could create a larger pool interested in SAS-style play. It is worth looking at.

The game is a touch futuristic and that is one of my major concerns, but I am interested in seeing how the concept works out in practice.
Looks good what is the catch?
Free Ghost Recon on Beta there has to be something of a drawback?

From the gameplay videos I've seen, not only is it a third-person shooter, but it also utilizes the cover system in R6 Vegas. This game will also have microtransactions like almost all free-to-play FPS, so while it very well could be fun from a gaming-only standpoint, I am skeptical if it would provide any more of a tactical feel than what we've seen from the R6 franchise over the past several years. But we can always try and stay optimistic!

I suspect the catch is the same as all the free online games that I play. It is free. You can play that way. For money they will sell you virtual equipment/access. I have never needed it for COMBAT ARMS or LOTRO, both of which have potential for tactical gameplay, but it can make progress less time consuming and provide better weapons.
I am not adverse to third-person as fps is great but does not give you normal human environmental perceptions as controls can never be as fast or omnidirectional as human brain-movement is. RvS one great weakness is tunnel-vision and SAS tries to minimize that with SOP's that prohibit scopes on the point, which only emphasizes this weakness exists. This is not to say third-person does not also have weaknesses.
I did see a prototype helmet videoscreen for gaming. Want to see where that is going. Turning your head/body would be more realistic than using hand controls.

Yep, West, seriously. I have seen a couple players organize tactical play against the zombies with assigned AOR and fighting withdrawls and crossfires both inside and outside the building and in the newer zombie map. I like to sit in the middle of the building with a full LMG and when a door defense starts to fold empty it into that doorway, giving them a chance to reload and reform. Just need people who do not thing kill count is most important. Gee. Does that work?
