Flash Filter MOD

Just a Thought what if we created a modication on RVS for flash filters on the goggles of the players when gas masks are equiped or as standard. To add to that realism.

Just a suggestion Biggrin

interesting thought, i personally would be interested in the capabilities of a Rvs S10 add-on.
Maybe to take up your 2nd slot would prevent from abuse during adversarial games.

Actually ive not seen anyone in [SAS] ever try to make an [SAS] official mod.
Maybe thats an idea

Woooahho Sniper!...You may have just begun a Revolution here my friend Biggrin

N I agree a Mod like that would make RVS a much better game than it already is....and I guess having a SAS mod for S4 would be pretty handy in enhancing realism aspects and bug fixes like that....basically Modding Rulez Dirol

Yes, there are other operating systems in the world besides Unix. But they're distributed in binary — you can't read the code, and you can't modify it. Trying to learn to hack on a Microsoft Windows machine or under any other closed-source system is like trying to learn to dance while wearing a body cast.

I have a similar opinion of trying to modify Raven Shield -> Theres to many walls in the way.

I've seen information displayed on crashes that references C++ code and files. Which assuming still exists we will never have access to unless licensed from the Developer.

What ever amount of the game done in Unreal Script, is probably much less then SWAT4 (a lot of S4). If the attempts to optimize the maps were like wise SOP while making the game. Most of the serious work is probably done in C++ for speed. Even if it wasn't we don't have the Unreal Script used to modify.

We have an unstable map editor that is poorly suited to map making (imho) and ether lacks much of the ability to extend RvS. In the way the UnrealEd build used in S4 can. Or is purposely restricted from doing so worth a dang !!

So in short, you are basically limited to changing existing textures/sounds by creating new .usx/uax e.t.c. and replacing them and .ini configuration files which are largely used just for that. Most of the real work in RvS is done in compiled files which I'm certainly not able to edit by hand. If any one could with competence, maybe Tim Sweeney could lol.

If you wanted to replace the PASGT helmets with some thing else, sure thing or even change all the FX sounds. At the price of punk buster (maybe). But for example making the helemts Flashproof or Gas proof is not going to be possible.

Unless we buy what we need from the owner so we can do any thing with it. Or license it to make a propriatary mod and try to talk some one into selling it for us. (Instant Mod Death, IMD)
