I will keep an up to date list of current members who are DS. This will help keep me up to date with progress of DS, and I'm sure our Sgt's and experienced DS could use the information as well.
Last Update: 10/22/05
Current DS:
Anyone above the rank of Sgt (experienced)
Wiz (experienced)
James (experienced)
Relish (experienced)
JB
Below is a list of members that are actively engaged in earning DS. Current DS help them out as best you can in acheiving what they want to recieve. For those that are unsure how to obtain DS, this is how to do it...
Assist in at least one tryout, with a DS conducting it. I suggest and I hope that you assist in more than one before conducting them on your own. Now that you understand how a tryout works, you can conduct it with the supervision of an experienced DS. That DS can then forward me a message letting me know whether or not you are ready to receive DS. Or if I am present, I will decide on the spot whether or not to award it. I will need to observe you in both a Rct and Trp tryout before awarding it.
I'll keep the Prosective DS list updated with the status of each person, what each has already done or what still needs to be done.
Prospective DS:
Cobra (assisted in many)
Bronco (assisted in one)
Noah (assisted in many)
Adze (assisted in several)
I'm going purely by memory at the moment. If anyone's information is wrong or not present, let me know and I can fix it quickly and easilly.
from what i see, DS is not changing, but the numbers of people with DS is, i foresee a few more people gaining DS in the near future.

Presumably this is now my responsibilty. Give me a few days to figure out what I'm gonna do.
By improvement, anything done in a fair way, where it is not up to one or two individuals. Putting peoples names on a list, and going down the list seemed reasonable, until the time factors were used where you are skipped over anyway, because the time is still decided by one or two, so the power to pick whoever you wanted was never withdrawn in the first place.
I know this is not a democracy, but we were told a system would be put in place that would be fair.
When a good system is in place, you don't have to kiss some ones butt, or worry about some one not liking you, and you still know, you are the next in line.
That is all I am ever going to say on this subject, sorry if it offends anyone.
only those who will
that i dont doubt Rand but to alls confusion things changed, i actually conducted a trooper tryout while trooper, but thats not how it happens now

Congratulations to SAS_LCpl_Noah who has earnt his DS wings. He can now conduct Rct tryouts un-supervised.
(please don't all block the topic by posting congrats)
Should the list up there be kept public? and not go in the members forum?
SAS_Vet_Noah
This thread is for discussion purposes only. The acutal indicator of DS ability is reflected in the Mighty Page.
That is the only public indicator required.

The initial reason I created the thread was because at the time, the DS awards were not kept up to date on The Mighty. So I had no idea who was actually DS. And this way I could also keep track of those who were trying to obtain DS. The reason its public is because there was no need for it to be private, and didnt mean for it to turn into five pages of discussion posts. But now I hand it over to the new RSM, what he does with it is up to him.
I intend to modify the Recruitment sticky in the NCO forum to include amongst other things, a list of current DS and those who are at the top of the list to gain DS
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
OK, I would like to get into this DS stuff. Where are the guidelines or references for it. If it is on the NCO forum, how can I get it! :?
SAS_VET_Centurion. And that is my $.02 Cdn. worth!!! Just because I am 51, does not mean I am old!
As awarding DS is now my job, I will be posting this info shortly.
This priqs my intertest
