Compatibility Problem (Xfire and Raven Shield)

I've just downloaded xfire and have launched raven shield, both through it and normally, and it crashes the game on start-up causing a loop error.

Does anyone know how I fix this?

Start ravenshield first, then start xfire. I don't mean log off xfire. I mean close xfire. They should work together if rvs is run first. Or get xfire for your mobile phone and have no conflicts Wink

Go to Options and Disable Xfire In-Game for Raven Shield and you should be good to go.

Since I'd like to use it in-game, I've tried Random's suggestion and it seems to work. Just need someone to talk to when I'm next on now. Biggrin

Xfire IDs are here, you should add yours as well Smile

Good, but actually if you want to use it in-game the solution from west is imho better.
The idea from random makes xfire doesn't detect RvS at all. When you follow Wests suggestion xfire will show other people that you play RvS, just not the exact server.

I don't usually play with xfire on anyway, because it makes me lag a bit, but I do what West said. Sometimes it enables itself even though I had it disabled, so I usually click it on and back off to make sure in-game mode is off when I start up RavenShield. I don't ever use the in-game version anyway. Using Alt+TAB is just as easy ;P

If it becomes a further problem, which it did for me, go as far into Rvs as selecting the multiplayer servers link, before booting Xfire Wink

Based on lag issues and the 'easiness' of ALT-Tab-ing, is there any point to actually using xfire (especially when TS is used by numerous servers)?

Our voice servers are restricted to members/server regulars only, so Xfire can come in handy when you want to organize some tactical rounds or see what servers other people are on.

I have given Mannanin TS access.

Sometimes people are hanging around on xfire and can be coaxed into playing some games ;). I'm only on xfire when I'm available to play but am doing something else (like homework).

You can also use xfire to contact an admin if you need help on a server.
