Hello 22nd [SAS] Elite Virtual Regiment and Friends,
I have been playing on your servers on and off since August of this year and have grown quite found of the professional, mature, and teamwork oriented play style that I have witnessed. Since I have been playing enough, I thought it would only be polite to formally introduced myself.
A little bit about myself. My common aliases are CitizenAlias and ROD5RIG and my real name is Andrew Rodriguez. I'm 20 years old, from the United States, and I'm currently a sophomore in college studying Civil Engineering. I've been playing realistic tactical shooters and military simulations games since 2009, starting with Project Reality: BF2 in February with Tactical Gamer (TG). I spent a few months playing PR with them, but made the switch to Arma 2 when in was adopted by TG that July. From there I spent the next 2 years playing with TG gaining much experience with them in developing many skills for realistic platoon and company level operations. During the August of 2010, the Arma 2 section of Tactical Gamer split off and formed United Operations (UO) and I joined them and continued to play for another year and a half before taking my current extended leave of absence. Since 2009, I have also played a variety of other tactical shooters, military simulations and strategy games though most of my time was still spent playing Arma 2. This included SWAT 3, SWAT 4, the original Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, the original Ghost Recon, Combat Mission: Shock Force, DCS: Black Shark, and DCS: A-10C.
I discovered the 22nd [SAS] Elite Virtual Regiment from a thread on the Serellan Forums in August. In the thread about SWAT 4, a user had posted a video of your clan playing a run of Duplessis Diamond Center. In that video I saw that same things that attracted me toward both Tactical Gamer and United Operations; a professional, mature, and teamwork oriented community focused on doing things the proper and realistic way. While it had been a long time since I played SWAT 4 and I had never played it coop, I was itching to get back into a tactical shooter even if it was only for the summer. I visited these forums and read up on your tactics, techniques, and procedures before joining the Proving Ground server for the first time. Thankfully, when first joining the server, I was greeted with people that were willing to help a newcomer and showed me the ropes, filling in any gaps that I had.
While I may never decide to fully join SAS, I hope to continue to learn from SAS members and perhaps bring that experience back to UO when I return. Thanks for reading this unnecessarily long introduction and hope see you on the Proving Grounds.
