Did you know that the SBS are often called the 'inferior SF' but are actually more specialist than the SAS.
This stems from the SBS being deployed into the Gulf and other conflicts to bolster the UKs Special Forces contingent. Naturally the SBS cannot be as 'all round' as the SAS. But i would like to see Andy McNab or even John McAleese Swim like those guys can.
The other major differance is that, contrary to public belief; the SAS recruit from all regiments in the British army. The SBS do not. You must have RN experience and 99% of all SBS applicants come from the Royal Marines.
i wouldnt say the SBS are inferior nor would i say that they are'nt as well rounded. the only reason the SAS are well known is because of the iranian embassy seige, the SBS havent been tested to their true capacity like the SAS. theres no doubt that the SAS are the best special forces in the world, but we have to remember that the SBS/SAS have the same sort of teams for the same scenarios. alot of people just think of them as counter terrorism units, and completely forget about they're role in a wartime scenario.

I would say that the Special Boat Service have been tested and they are true ........Special Forces Soliders. I can personally vouche for that !
Short and sweet, but nice.
