The Beretta Jetfire .22 Short pistol is a personal favorite of mine and I am never without it. It even saved my life a few years ago while hiking in the mountains with a family member. We were attacked by the largest grizzly bear we had ever seen. I was able to escape by simply walking away at a brisk pace, after I shot my brother-in-law in the knee.

The brother in law is married to his sister. Most brothers are over protective about their sisters. By shooting his brother-in-law in the leg he did both his sister and the bear a favour. The bear didn't really have to expend any effort in acquiring the brother in law as a meal and the brother could just walk away. Happy in the knowledge that the jerk who married his sister would never be coming home to her ever again!
Thanks for clearing up the confusion Malty x.x
Fortulatly your brother-in-law didn't take an arrow to the knee !

*facepalm*
I don't get it, because english is not my main language so I don't know/understand such jokes. I translate text in my head as it looks like. And just for information, I have a good sense of humour

Don't feel bad about it Magnum nearly everyone has problems with humour and translating the humour - even the Dalai Lama (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlIrI80og8c). What's funny in one culture might not be funny in another.
However apparently this is the joke appreciated by nearly every culture and is [sic] the world's funniest joke.
Yes, Malty, I've heard that one. Funny stuff.
