ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead - Is it worth buying?

I'm sorry if this has already been brought up before, but here we go:

I've been looking at some footage from this game on YouTube and it looks rather interesting. I've been told that it's pretty demanding when it comes to specs, but perhaps Arrowhead is better optimized than the free version of Arma 2?

My question is if it's worth buying and if there are people who play cooperatively, unlike games such as Counter-Strike where people mostly do their own thing.

Arma II is Great. I'd recommend getting it.

Unfortunately, my computer can't really handle it. I have to turn the graphics down to like minecraft standards (which I actually don't mind so much, but it's kinda hard to see what the heck is going on sometimes). I would still recommend this game, based on gameplay. It's very realistic and it makes you feel like you're part of a real army squad.

I won't be buying the official game until I have enough money to buy it and at least a graphics card upgrade for my computer. I'm counting down the days, and finally I have something to wish for on my Birthday/etc lol.

OA is way more realistic than ARMA2. If you get the ACE mods (Advanced Combat Environment) it is even more realistic. Some of the SAS members play this game with RL military tactics. You could come and play some games with us.

As for Counter-Strike, I don't agree completely with your statement. A lot of people plays the like rambos, but if you play it seriously (get a team and subscribe to amateur and professional leagues), everyone plays tactically and synchronize their movements. Check out on youtube some videos of CPL (Cyberathlete Professional League).

Yes it is worth it, but make sure you get cominbed operations if you don't have the original Arma 2 already.

Though clumbsy with CQB - you can modify methods around it, as my clan has done.

My idea of CQB is running in with a sword.

Well, I decided to buy it, so I was busy learning to apply first aid and flying UAVs last night. OA is great so far. I'd love to play a few games with you all.

@Nick
I completely agree that Counter Strike can be a great game with plenty of teamplay, but it's very rare to see people working together in normal pub-servers, so that's what I meant. I'd like to be able to join an OA-server and cooperate with the other players without subscribing to various leagues, communities, etc. Smile
