ArmA 3?

ArmA 2 started to get the good old tactical back on track even with its 300 bugs and unoptimized engine.

Recently Bohemia released few videos and images of the ArmA 3 development in progress, and from what I see I can say ArmA 3 is about to re-shape the tactical fps market should it become popular and widely adopted. It has stunning graphics and features for a game that is an open world simulator, and even though its minimum system requirements are way too high one may still ask how did they pack so much detail in such a vast and open game?

The best part is that ArmA 3 will have even more moddable content with even more CQB, making it possible to create any type of military related mod for different types of audience, even SAS related mod for CQB could be done. Also, they still haven't finished the already gorgeous looking lightning engine, which means that ArmA 3 final release will look even better.

Not many will be able to play this game as it requires high end gaming system though.

Here are few exclusive videos that are not available on the official website:

Interview with lots of exclusive gameplay footage (not in English, but worth watching) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnFy1IvvIGM
Leaked beta testing footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVW8ZivyLGI&

So what do you think? Will you buy this game? Will it thrive and become popular?

Those screenshots look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
Second and last screenshots blow me away. The lighting is just utterly jaw dropping.

Had I a good enough system, I most certainly would buy it!

Sigh, I know how that feels. I was in same situation when I wanted to play Crysis when it went on sale.

Anyway, if you want to play ArmA 2 on older systems. I have some seriously useful tweaks that make older PCs run it even better. ArmA 2 Free uses less processing power as well, and the non-free version has many fps tweak mods available at armaholic.com also, 1.11 patch fixes lots of bugs and improves performance

I have a workstation with few really neat rigs, sadly work policy doesn't let me play or even use Internet on those :(. I play some older games on 2 old pcs when I have some free time, 1 of them is a single core with 2 gb of ram and Ati 3450 512 MB, and so far I made ArmA 2, MOH 2010, Swat 4, BF BC2 and few other newer titles run with minnor lag and 25-30 FPS on average even on High or Medium settings.

If you wish, tell me your system specs in PM and games you play and maybe I can tweak some files for you to try out and give you some intel on neat tricks on how to play with even less FPS drop.

A new lighting trailer has come out in preparation for E3. I cannot wait.

For those who want BIS to make it better, get onto the A3 forums and state your business. They have listened to some cases.

I'm heavily involved in anything CQC/CQB related:

My idea of CQB is running in with a sword.
