I'm using W7 its awesome, I haven't had a problem with any game yet in fact all my games are working a lot better.
Cara get Windows 7, you can set compatibility mode for each individual game or program and you also have the option of Downloading XP mode for Windows 7 from the microsoft website.
"While the maximum RAM limit for 32-bit Windows 7 editions is 4GB, when it comes to the 64-bit editions, the amount of memory that the OS can address depends on which edition you are running.
Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 7:
Starter: 8GB
Home Basic: 8GB
Home Premium: 16GB
Professional: 192GB
Enterprise: 192GB
Ultimate: 192GB"
I use Windows XP Professional 64-bit with 8 GB of RAM. Excellent performance.

Unless you use PAE, it's closer to 3.5GB max that you'll actually get out of 32-bit systems.
The RAM "Limits" in Windows 7 are business choices for the sales rather then a 64-bit specific thing. Hacks to control how much you can use without paying more aside, Windows 7 can address more RAM then you can install on any desktop machine.
Everyone I have talked to is convinced that Windows 7 is better than their previous Windows, be it XP or Vista. One of them is a real geek of whom I always thought he'd only use Linux. Maybe in the near future, I'll get it myself.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I will start with my situation. I run XP64 with 8gb RAM..therefore 32 bit would only recognise just over 3gb. However many of my favourite games will not run in XP64..Rvs and GR are examples.
I have installed windows 7 64-bit Ultimate..as an OS i actually think its quite good..it does support Rvs,Swat4 and Ghost Recon. It runs a lot quicker than XP64. I was concerned that it would be zapping more resources than are needed just to (lets face it) create quick links to our favourite programs or games.
My only gripe with 7 is that it seems to have a great problem with DHCP.
Now lets gather some perspective.. When XP was released, it took years, and a couple of SP's to get users happy with even 50% of what it did. With 7, millions are saying its good..immediatly.
My opinion.........Its good..but dont expect 100% success immediatly
The performance, interface and design is just Excellent Cara.
I can highly recommend Windows 7.
Wiz and Mando are using Windows 7.

Cara,
as far as i know, if you need the XP mode, you have to buy the professional or ultimate version.

Do you guys have the 32 or 64 bit version?? I think i would buy the 64 bit version, or is there anything speaking against it?
Those who believe to be something, have stopped to become something
up to 4 GB RAM - 32 bit version
from 5 GB RAM - 64 Bit or you couldnt use the RAM
32 Bit version with 4 GB RAM, games are most of the time faster.

Waiting on the disks....

I'll be getting Windows 7 along with all my new hardware.
Really looking forward to it now ^_^

I'm planning to upgrade my system to 64-bit, so when that is done, I'm surely saying goodbye to Vista and hello to W7
