The next generation aircraft carrier is designed to have this new technology to launch its aircraft.
We could use a few of those at airports as well. Think how short our runways would have to be. Hook up 767s to one of those bad boys and away we go.
I think it's amazing that magnets can get a fighter up to launch speed in under 4 secs.

looks like a great improvement on the current elastic band system. But i have to say if they could do that with a 787 i would be very impressed.

well im sure once this get tested enough and has some successful runs it will be integrated into civilian much like the rest of military technology was.
