Server crash because of me

Hey guys,

I'm having this strange thing, I play SWAT4 TSS on the SAS proving grounds 4 server, after a while, this can be 20 seconds to 10 minutes the server crashes.
This problem occures sometimes but seems to be there everytime I play.
I don't want to cause any trouble on the server and I'd never do something like this on purpose. Today I was banned by Devon, don't blame him.
I'm now reinstalling/repairing my SWAT4 and TSS. I have a downloaded copy from the game.

Do you guys have any idea what could cause this?

Thanks

By "downloaded copy" you mean a pirate version? Corrupted game files, e.g. a bad crack, can cause this problem.

Thanks for your post, Silentstrike.

We had some good games the other day. Nevertheless - after 6 servercrashes within about 4 minutes - I had to BAN you in order to prevent further crashes. After that the server was running without any problems again.

I assume your SWAT TSS is no original version. If this should be the case, then you know what causes the trouble.

Yes, some pirated versions of the game cause some servers to crash when you enter them, perhaps it's (as Raptor said) because of the crack used.

crashes

Cracks do that to games. When I was teen I was keen to learn about software and coding, I would sometimes crack the software I already purchased for the sake of learning and just for myself (which later helped me a lot when I started developing my own programs and games to make them harder to crack) All it takes is one wrong bit of code and you got problems that can not only crash your game but destroy your hardware over time.

So, as Wiz pointed out, 5 bucks can save you the trouble, if you can't however either find a non-crack solution until you buy the game or simply play once you buy it.

If it's not your game, then it's maybe your OS. Cracked OS'es like the Black version of XP come with tons of malware and flaws that auto-crack everything you run on it (even antiviruses so they become stealthed) that's why legit copy of Windows is a must today.

About other cracked stuff. It's not legal to use pirated products, and it's harming to the developers, even to a level where great devs cease to exist because of over-pirated game or software, perfect example is World of Goo game. It was pirated so much that devs received only about 10% of the actual money which wasn't sufficient to cover even their marketing bills let alone development or investment in some other project, however, good things happen, World of Goo is a marvel in it's own class and it's fans gathered and those who pirated the game bought it to support the developers, later, 2dboy (the dev team) released console and iphone versions of the game. That being said, piracy is not good, but it's ok sometimes if you can't purchase but do purchase stuff you pirate later, it's the core reason why some companies release DRM free products - Help me to help you.

Thanks for your help guys, I'll probably buy it, 13 euro's.
I would have done the same as you if I would have been an admin Duke.

The story about the download is that I used to have a SWAT4 cd but it stopped working so after a year I downloaded one, that worked, but not quite as good online as it seems.

And by the way, I'm not really a coder, but I can make 3d models in Cinema 4D and probably also convert them to .3ds. If that could be of any use, for instance making a mod, I'm happy to help.
