Hmm...500 years ago people who believed the earth is a sphere has been laughed at, or even burned.
So if you ask me there are many examples of physical/scientific mistakes in the Internet and also in reallife which are much more obvious and funny.
My personal favorite is the discussion of paket loss in a network cable: high network speed of 1 Gbit/s and narrow turns of the cable result in pakets flying out of the cable
