I don't support neither the governments, wikileaks or peoples majority opinions, I support myself.

Wikileaks may have published many documents, but the real truth is that majority of those weren't a secret, as matter of fact almost all of it can be found all over the Internet.

If the data leaks were a serious threat to govts, Internet would have been extremely tightly regulated and such data inaccessible, instead, such data is left there to stay so that people who can find it use it for their own "education" as clearly if they could use the Internet and find those docs, and then understand them they have brains and govts don't need to worry about it.

The reason why govts are so upset over wikileaks is that it spreads those already available leaks to the masses that are off either average or below average intelligence, no offense, but as a quote goes "never underestimate the power of stupid people in great numbers" so if masses who until yesterday knew nothing about it start to panic, what will happen? Unnecessary chaos, rioting and millions of worth in damages, and to no one else but to the very same people who rioted.

Both govts and leakers are right about their doings, preventing riots is the right thing to do, yet letting people know what's going on is another right thing to do. Internet is used only by 1/3 of the population on Earth, slice 50% of that 1/3 and you get above average users, and slice 50% of that 50% of the 1/3 and you get the really smart users, now if you compare that to others, you will see it's just a tiny little droplet compared to an ocean, there is no reason to create drama about it.

And I agree with WIZ, politics don't have their place here, though if there was a non-public category I'm sure some people would like the chit-chat Wink

I don't care one way or the other about this case, but it doesn't matter how old a law is. As long as it's active, it's the law. Some laws have been around hundreds of years or longer in some cultures, but the law is still as valid as the day it was written.

A law from only 70 years ago is still in its infancy Lol

Those kinda laws are a trap. They are very very old, and if some nutjob does commit a crime within such laws, he/she/they will end up wrangling in the courts from 3-4 to even 20 years until the law is changed and the killer/killers end up sentenced to some 30-40 years in prison, the ones that do get away with it are either in govt, celebrity with piles of cash or someone so unfortunate with, say, a disease and is left to live for short time.

Maybe in the ol' days when there weren't satellites, UAVs, CCTV cameras, etc, someone could get away with it, but today it's like committing a suicide. Of course, as long there is humanity there will be errors, laws have holes, and there are plenty of ways to go around, but the people who can find and use those ways usually wont fall low and get caught at 1st place.

laws

In old days way before electricity even existed in everyday lives, one may just wonder what kinda laws they had, their life expectancy was no more than 30, for those who got lucky it was 40 something, and that's a big IF they could make it past 15 :?

Just imagine, if as Wiz pointed out to an old law there were many such laws, how careful did people have to be and to respect each other to avoid getting killed? Not a bad thing maybe, sort of what humanity could use today Lol
