Hi all,
Does anyone know what's happened to rvsgaming.com? It says that the license for the site expired and is pending renewal or deletion. This seems highly unlikely though considering it's been kept upto date for so long.
Anyone got any contact details for the site managers?

I spoke to Twi via PM the other night about it. Basically the domain registration has expired, but neither of us have external contact addresses for Autoload. If you can think of anyone that might have his email address, please get them to alert him to the problem.

Would it be Autoload or Gotti that dealt with that, though?
Autoload, i havent seen Gotti in years

 To Mannanin,
It is a sad day for the Ravenshield community to see that one of its prominent sites is DOWN (but hopefully, NOT OUT). It has been a lighthouse in the Ravenshield community where people go for information, maps, mods, etc...
I just hope Gotti or Autoload or both will see and read of our concern for the loss of their site, and will convince them of the need for RVSGaming. Also, I hope a few people would help with the monetary need of the site.
Anyways, I hope Gotti/Autoload won't take this the wrong way but there are a few sites that you can visit to get Ravenshield infos, as well as contribute to:

The site seems to be up and running again
Good Deal, Thank ya for the info.
Great news, and it turned out to be Gotti after all, lol if only they didnt hide their registration in the whois, we couldve contacted them days ago.

Looks like RVSGaming is out again. It has been several weeks since. I tried contacting Autoload in his e-mail but no response! (SIGH).
Anybody know anything or heard anything?

Yes Poom.
I have spoken to Autoload via MSN. Basically, he has a full backup of the site stored but Gotti let his hosting expire.
I am keen to see this backup being used.

To SAS_Wiz,
If I can get my hands on them, then I can maybe ask BFSP if I can upload it there? Or use them at ModDB - http://www.moddb.com/games/tom-clancys-rainbow-six-3-raven-shield, or at Ravenshield Community at same site - http://www.moddb.com/company/rainbow-six-3-ravenshield-community, or even at Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ravenshield-Community/230137587080561, or even at RVS Mod - http://forums.rvsmods.com/index.php.
It is a shame to lose ALL THOSE MAP FILES, as well as TUTORIAL FILES!

I agree. Autoload does have a couple of domains at his disposal, and the backup is full and was taken just before the site went down. So no worries, nothing has been lost.

8O To SAS_Wiz,
I hope you don't mind my including you in a few posts that I made (Facebook - Ravenshield Community and ModDB Tom Clancy's Ravenshield: Rainbow Six 3) in case people might want to inquire/help.
So...what now? Any plans on what to do next?

I dont mind in the slightest. I want the community to succeed and ill do anything i can to help.

:? To SAS_Wiz,
I have a favor to ask you. I just received an e-mail from Tim Forar from Shadow Squad - http://www.shadowsquadhq.com/, and he was asking about RVSGaming. I told him what I knew and mentioned you contacting Autoload, and so on. The thing is, Tim is willing to give RVSGaming a site, sort of host it. The problem is you have to get a hold of Autoload and ask him if we can have access to those invaluable files!
So, can you do that and get back to me, please. Maybe we can get this thing going again - resurrect the site!?!
IMPORTANT - please read this message - http://www.angelfire.com/zine3printpubinc/webpub30/1234567.htm
That's right Wiz and Poompoom. If you can make the arrangements with Autoload then Shadow Squad would offer up the free hosting for RVSGaming to continue on. While we are currently not actively selling hosting I can make the space with any requirements he needs and hook him up with the space and the cPanel and even a domain name if he needs one. Maybe he could even obtain ownership of the rvsgaming.com domain name from Gotti. Whatever happens just let me know. I am working my sack off though so it may take days before you are able to contact me again. Keep in touch fellas.
I will link Autoload to this topic. You are free to discuss it here if you need to.

Yes, so I haven't heard anything from Gotti on his site. What I know from attempting to log in to his web host is that the master domain hosting has expired (not the domain name, just the master account). As such, sub accounts are disabled.
I'm really not sure what to do, if anything, to move forward with that host. I have the database and all the files that were on the site, but I have to be honest when I say that I don't have the time or desire to redo the site.

:? To Autoload,
May I ask you a question? How big is the database? How GBs? I can maybe take them off your hands?
IMPORTANT - please read this message - http://www.angelfire.com/zine3printpubinc/webpub30/1234567.htm
I think Autoload told me it was 100gb. But we both agree, there are probably a lot of very old maps and mods that are either not very good or not compatible with 1.6, so it probably could be trimmed.
I also have disk space available, but not that much.
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
:? To SAS_Wiz,
Okay. I only have 72GB on my laptop. Hmmm... Maybe Tim could take it off Autoload's hands!?? I e-mailed him already to let him know of Autoload's post here.
IMPORTANT - please read this message - http://www.angelfire.com/zine3printpubinc/webpub30/1234567.htm
Space isn't really an issue. The information could easily be backed up to our server but depending on Autoloads connection speed it could take days to upload. From there we would simply have to either purchase the domain from Gotti or come up with one of our own. My hosting company can absorb the cost of the domain name and the hosting. Let me know how you guys would like to proceed.
Additionally, I may be able to convert from the phpbb forums so we could rejuvinate the site into a newer more stable format. My slow season from work will be coming up in a little less than two months, so I would be willing to put the time into it.
I am sure we could make arrangements to have the website well looked after as well. Once it's operational it doesn't take much to maintain it. I am sure we could get a couple volunteers easily.
I would be willing to invest my knowledge and some of my time if it sees this valuable resource succeed.
Like i say, im pretty certain, there are areas that can be trimmed down and streamlined.

Count me in! I am willing to help with the moderation of the forum if and when we decide to resurrect the site.
I am presently attending Electrician Assistant classes but it only last til afternoon. Then I am free for the rest of the day.

Thanks you guys for trying to work this out. I even went through my network to see if it was feasible to host, but my current network setup won't allow it to happen. (Cisco gear is kinda dumb like that). 100gb isn't really that much, but like you guys said...it's just a matter of getting that much data transferred. Hope this ends successfully. I would offer to help but it sounds like you guys kinda have a plan together.
I just thought of a couple of things i'll throw in.
I have a few 160g IDE hard drives laying around. What i'm thinking is, because of the amount of data, i'm willing to ship one to autoload so he can copy it to the HDD and then he can ship it to whomever needs it to copy the files to the new host. This would be quicker than trying to upload that amount of data. PM me if this is something you guys would like to do.
Second, does someone other than Gotti have the ability to point the domain name to the new host? If Gotti is the only one with admin capability for the domain name, then this won't work if he's not going to continue with the site.
Just throwing my 2 cents in.
AnkhNeter, i dont think the HDD idea is feasible.
In a short answer to the domain..yes, gotti needs to be involved. Whether that be transfer of account or a re-point...He needs to do it.
Lt_Col WIZ, VC, MiD (Ret)
ok, just thought I would throw it out there. Just wanted to see if that would help at all.
Hopefully someone can get Gotti to release/transfer admin right to the domain name or else the site will have to go under a different domain.
The entire database for the site is about 600 Mb in an uncompressed SQL dump. The site files total just about 6 Gb, or which, 4 Gb being maps and mods.
I'll be happy to upload the maps and mods to anywhere from my home network.

Thats great, we just need to work out where now.
Also, would it be possible to try an attempt contact with Gotti to arrange DNS redirection?
