Timezones

I've noticed that most of you are from America, and therefore in another timezone than me, seeing as I'm from Europe.

I'm in GMT+1, so it's rather hard to catch many of you for a game unless it's in the weekends.

I was just wondering how many of you guys are from Europe/are playing at around the same times at me, so we could arrange a little murder and mayhem. Dirol

Take a look at this topic here - you have access and are listed there beside other good teamplayers:

Maybe you send out some xfire-invites as suggestion... Blum 3

Hi Muffdog. I think I've seen you on the servers a couple of times for Raven Shield. I'm in GMT timezone and usually play from 10/11pm onwards. Sadly, I'm not on as regularly as I'd like these days due to other commitments. Damn real life always getting in the way Lol

Last night was tough for me... Played from 9 pm to 8 am (!) here in Germany, but was fun. Always call for a game; ... Smile
I'm always in if I have the time.

We have a pretty good spread across the world as far as our members go. DUKE, Shawty, Walker, and DeCapi are all European I think. We've got quite a few people who are friends too; Elite, Eire, Mannanin, Maxyzz - it's hard to keep track of em all.

I think they all play pretty late though, as far as GMT is concerned. They're usually talking about how it's something o'clock on the morning ;P

GMT+1 = UK

Actually, no. The UK currently runs as at GMT. The rest of Europe, with the exception of Portugal which also runs at GMT, operates at GMT +1 (otherwise known as Central European Time, or CET). Of course, during the summer months, those countries observing Daylight Savings Time shift forward one hour. In that respect, you could be right in saying that the UK operates at GMT +1.

Interestingly though, the British Parliament is currently looking to put forward a Bill that will align the UK with the rest of Europe i.e. make the UK observe CET, in order to make international business easier.

Smile Correct. Like I say, this only applies to the summer months. Ah, I see where the confusion is coming in now...

Generally speaking, people who live in places that are referred to as GMT +1 live in European states, observing CET. Right now, they would be GMT +2 because of DST. So Muffdog, in Denmark, is actually GMT +2, not +1.

You're a sly one, Wiz Lol

Basically in SAS we refer to all times in UTC..This does require work from the individual...but it requires work from every individual and makes sure that we all are on the same sheet

Well it tends to differ between RVS and SWAT, because in the former we have more North American players and in the latter we have more European players (talking clan members only).

As such from what I've seen the best times to catch people on PG4 is around the evening until nighttime (GMT). With RVS it tends to vary more, but to catch the NA players who play on PG2 Europeans have to stay up late.

Kind of confusing: GMT, GMT+1, GMT+2, UK (UKT?), CET, DST, BST, UTC... 8O 8O 8O

Yes, I often struggle with that.

Anyway, you all forgot the most important one: YMCA - Partytime Exclaim
