On a related note, does anyone own some firearms and go to the range with them? I know my European friends may not have the luxury of us Americans, but I am quite fond of range shooting.

Wow I'm surprised none of them hurt themselves... Saw this funny comment on a related video: "respawning in kitchen 5...4...3...2..1" Lol

We don't get too many of their kind on the Proving Ground, don't know if that's a good or bad thing though.

Oh well, I think most of the people watch too many movies where the guns can be fired in every positions, environment and what seems to be effortless. On my part, I never fired a real gun, but as a man of science, I would think that if you want to give a speed to a piece of metal above the sound wall (for certain gun), this would mean the same force on the opposite direction (ut tensio sic vis).

First time I shot a 30-06 I was in a sitting position, though it was kind of awkward due to the fact my rest was a log that was taller than me sitting down... at first the kick caught me by surprise, which I suppose it always should, but after firing it a few more times I got the hang of it to where I could control the kick as best I could. Still though -- funny stuff Wink

Kevlar! Dang! She was ready to go to war... Grambo aint no joke!

Ah well, personally I think that shooting a handgun can be done almost (ALMOST) like they do in the movies. You just have to realize that they are holding on tightly and not the wussy way that these people were demonstrating.

I've shot a colt .357 magnum, which kicks like hell, but it's controllable if you're holding on.

I don't really know about legalities. All I know is that my family owns a lot of guns ^^'

As for "going to the range", DDay, we have 120 acres and lots of boxes and sharpies.

well bb guns arent technically illegal, but if you get spotted with so much as a water pistol these days, it sparks a full scale 'swat' ambush by armed police with MP5's. There was a case here not so long ago where a kid faced the prospect of live 9mm for the sake of a pint of water in his super soaker..C'mon i mean you couldve at least given the kid some JHP to match it up a little, right?

Well i have some legal firearms used for hunting. Here we don't have many shooting ranges anymore since government wants to shut them down for normal people. There are still some of them, but they are mostly for special groups such as hunters.
