The Perfect Player.

What is the Perfect Player? Is it really possible or is it simply something we all aspire to yet never achieve? What does it take to get one step closer to perfection?

No one is perfect, Grumpoo, unless we get into some sort of religious debate.

But becoming an official member of the 22nd SAS E.V.R. means you've made it a few steps closer to perfection.

Nick is perfect isn't he? Lol

Seriously, there is always room for improvement. There is no perfect players. Who never died in one of our games? As for SAS, we are looking for good skills, but maturity and way of thinking is very important as well. Tactics can be taught, practiced and mastered. Way of being is something you can hardly change.

You know I was going to mention two people in this post who I'd consider to be asymptotically perfect, but now I'm only going to mention one : Random. Heck, if I can eat a sandwich while he's on on point then he's gotta be doing something right. (For those who may not have been present, it was basically a two man team and random did all the work - Malty offered some moral support. Very important!!)

Not sure who the other person was anymore. Blum 3

As for the ideal of perfection. Well, that's a philosophical discussion which is rather boring I should say. Basically in a nutshell, perfection might exist in a platonic kind of form similar to how an ideal circle might exist. In reality though, there's probably only ever reflections or images of such concepts and no real perfect form or ideal actually exists in our material world. See, I told you it'd be boring and I do apologise for it being vague. I suppose I could try to clarify further, but I'm pretty sure I just heard a collective "No!" or "Please God KILL me now" or something to that effect from a few of ye.

So yeah, in my opinion, this post was PERFECT. Biggrin

"Nobody's perfect" pretty much summarizes it I guess.
Everyone makes mistakes in his/her gameplay, and if perfection equals being flawless at all times, then I'd say it's downright impossible to achieve perfection.

If you ask me, perfection is always a process and not a status Wink

I believe perfection can be attained, just not maintained indefinitely. Training helps you attain perfection with greater frequency.

Had a thought, I believe this answer that I found online articulates it quite well...

"Perfection isn't possible for the simple fact that perfection is subjective. Everyone has a different idea of what perfect is. It cannot exist for everyone at the same time."

In terms of the gaming aspect, I think the same applies - plus Lodige and Nick's answers.

If perfection were possible in SWAT 4 you would only need a 1 man element no matter what the situation. Every bullet would count, and ultimately you would never get injured. Even if the game glitched out... there are some pretty skilled players out there and no, soloing things isn't necessarily hard at times, but I think you get the idea!! Smile

Perfection - an often used word, which has so many "colors" - depending on everyone's personal view of things.

Generally I think noone can ever be perfect. The goal should always be to strive for perfection, to come close to it according to ones own understanding of it, globally spoken - to be better than the rest.

Gamingwise, perfect for me is just: Noone injured in my team, everything went smooth, fast and worked like a suisse clock...
...ending in the green letters: "Mission accomplished". Lol Dirol

Human is not created to be perfect, human is created to improve himself. So if you ask me "Can we achieve perfection ?" My answer is simple, No.

Indeed, my weapons did malfunction and I just walked behind Nick for one round... Lol At least I could say "clear".

Out of a sudden my left mouse button did not work anymore. After the round I remembered that I had changed some settings the day before and by mistake I bend the LMB to the ingame-coms. B:

Back to topic --> the next round with working guns was PERFECT Exclaim Dirol
