So which game do you people like more as I think that although SR is totally unrealistic it still has its merits as it is hilarious and doesn't take itself too seriously...

GTA for the win
Played it back in the day since GTA 3 was released.
Saints Row - never heard of it before...

GTA simply put. Its better in many aspects as far as story and gameplay.
Saints Row....well umm....its....yea about that.
Military life is having a plan. Then a new plan. Then another plan. Then the first plan. Then a brand new plan only to go back to the 2nd plan.
I think there will never be a game in this genre that beats GTA series.

I think Walker got it right - all the sandbox games today feed off of the success of GTA, whether it's completely or just to an extent.
Mafia and The Godfather (game) are two other good ones in the same genre.

Not going to lie, I find great pleasure simply "patrolling" Liberty City for hours in a police car. Sometimes screaming up to a bunch of gangsters and jamming them (wish you could actually do that) or responding code 3 the way it should be done to a mission or actually doing a police mission on the MDT in the car.
Police missions are sadly inaccurate due to the fact that you'll never take anyone into custody unless you have a computer version (GTA 4) and a LCPDFR mod, which I have neither of. GTA > Saints Row (Only played the 1st Saint's Row) In my opinion.

agree with you all there, I have spent many an hour on SA doing things I am not too proud about ;). In my opinion the games take up two different genres, one being the realistic serious crime simulator and the other being a vastly exaggerated fps with free roam. Still I enjoy battering fools with giant dil*os!

gta is better !!! SR is a bit to much.
gta4 is the reason why i buyd the xbox because u need a beast to play it in higher performence settings
