The Regiment is a computer game that was released by Konami in 2006. It is based on the Special Air Service, and includes all the tactics that the S.A.S. use and some real-life missions.

It's a good game. It's original release did not cover the United States, so it wasn't a good game to adopt for the team.
It was later released under another name in the United States, but it never really caught on.

It never really caught on anywhere. A few of us in SAS at the time played it.
The game was scheduled for released in the Autumn of 2005, pretty much on the same day as Rainbow Six: Lockdown. Ubisoft noticed this, so they brought their release forward by 1 month. Konami quickly copied them, Ubisoft responded. So Konami eventually brought out a product that i personally dont think is a complete item, and when you know the history of the release dates, you can see why.
Its a fun game to play, but boy is it tough.

Yes, i failed the mission, and it was on easy settings, and yes you do have to make sure the tangos are dead, as they like to get back up and shoot you.

So I played this game, went to Parliament. I must say, this is a good game. Yes, the graphics are not very much (although who pays attention to it), yes, there is no direct control over team-mates, yes, commandos say voice of a man who suffered a bout of diarrhea. But I do not care for it. Not least because the game is based on real events, and it has movies in which a former commando "Mac" tells the story selection in SAS, about different tactical wisdom, which are trained commandos, and so on. Gameplay looks like SWAT 4. I think, everything.

Mac was never a commando.
He was an SAS Trooper...there is a massive differance.
Parliament maps are my favourite on this game.
Nick...I was almost 1 minute too slow shooting that last tango, It took we almost 3 mins to clear that area, mainly slowed down due to having to wait to shoot the guy in the kitchen with the hossy.

At the least they got the gunsight display correct, not low and to the right like RvS. I really hate that. Even more now that I upped my display rez and the red "real" sights are thin and light and hard to see.
Is it really worth buying though?
