Adverserial Tournament

I have an idea and I would like to know if people like this. My idea is an adverserial tournament for this clan every 2 or 3 months or so.
Where as the GCHQ draws the teams, the maps and the mapmodes 2 weeks prior to the tourney date. So that the teams can plan their tactics in advance if they want. Then we play and see who's first to 16 victories for example. The winning team get's a honorary mention on the website. Or perhaps an adver medal and the losing team makes the summary of the match. GCHQ can set up the rules on use of weapons and tactics.

The idea behind is that everyone likes adverserial but that there isn't something to train for yet. Such an event would perhaps make it more fun to practice adverserial and have something to train for. Let me know what you think about it.

An interesting idea. We'll have to bounce it around a little while and see if it makes sense with the direction we are heading. Right now we are focused the next two weeks on member training of SOPs. I'm sure we can come up with something fun for current members and friends.

From time to time, We use the Adversarial Mode to practice Hostage rescues, with our Own SAS Members covering the Hostages...
Thats also Fun!

Well the idea of the current 'Live fire' server is to play inside SOPs, but against real players of a similar standard.

I kinda like this idea..we would have to discuss details inside the private forums, but for a taster.....

How about 4v4 with 2 referees on Ghost cam, if a kill is deemed to be outside of SOPs, it is discounted. Or possibly a points system involved ie a clear kill is 10, a gimp is 5, an illegal kill is -20 etc.
Like Random said, this will have to be thouroughly organised, controlled and most importantly; agreed by the members.
However, i do see this this as an extension of our live op system.

The idea is a sort of fun tournament but you can make it more complicated. Tho you'll need an awfull lot of rules and referees to implement that. What would be alot easier if everyone gets athena sword expansion pack for rvs. So you can play terrorist hunt adverserial. Then it's really element vs element. They also support alot of other adverserial modes more centred on teamplay. I believe its 5 or 10 us dollars on steam. Think most people already have it.
I think a simple fun tournament would do the trick. A very thoroughly organised and controlled game makes it hard to set up. Some basic rules and a gentlemen's agreement on them would make it very playable.

Supported by Athena sword:

Terrorist hunt adverserial, Element vs Element
Scattered terrorist hunt adverserial: Players spawn on their own but can reform as an element.
Capture the enemy: Instead of dying you are captured. You can free your teammates. So that's hostage simulation with real players instead of stupid hostage bots.
Kamikaze: Same as Bomb but then a person carries the bomb and looks for the defuse in the enemy base. The other team needs to eliminate him by finding the detonator and blow him up.

These are all good ideas m8, but, like Random said, atm we have other things more important to focuss on. When those things are over, we will look more into detail your ideas. I personnaly like the idea but it wiill require some rules like Wiz mentioned to avoid a run n gunning competition as we surely don't want.

See, here is the issue. Adversarial was really big when this game emerged, and it took every aspect of this game being a co-op, organized platform and turned into an every man for himself kinda game.
Really ruined the game actually. It was really big on Compition Ladders and became a Team vs. Team (Clan vs. Clan) Game. This was really not the way this game was meant to be played.
We... SAS, never lowered ourself to that playing platform where you download every moded map avail. and pit Team member against Team member.
This will NEVER Happen, however, Occasionally we will play this format for FUN.

SAS IS ONE OF THE ONLY SERVERS YOU CAN ENTER, BE ACKNOWLEDGED AS A PERSON AND INVITED TO PLAY AS A TEAM MEMBER TO ACCOMPLISH A MISSION. THIS IS SAS....NOT TOE TAGS OR RAD CLAN (not that they have not flourished in Adverarial).

On a lighter note, not one adversarial Clan can do what we do without resorting to Memory Playing.

Well there is alot of adverserial fun playing going on the TG last month. And that's what made me think of a fun tournament. Since the others like the idea I think we will hear more about it in the future.

In the past we have had these Live fire servers and had members who have not adhered to the rules of keeping tactical play in mind and resorting to run and gun tactics.

But now we have re focused Live fire excerises on our TG server and fine tuned so that our SOPs are played and our tactical minded players who have the invite to play on our exclusive TG server, so that tactical play is adhered to and is observed by myself and GCHQ.

The idea of a tourney based on these grounds seems to be alot of fun for our members and the select few who have SAS Friends status. We would have to discuss this on a more detailed basis. But right now this is not a top priority.
