$2700 I think, about right in the States for a battle rifle these days. It is not legal to purchase where I live, however. In fact, Los Angeles has not removed it's anti-"assault weapon" laws though it is state legal to own one that was registered when mine was. L.A. is not enforcing it's laws per the District Attorney's office.

Getting a "Fun" gun in the USA is getting roughly a troublesome affair.

I'd settle for an old Mauser bolt-action rifle, lol.

Well, Spidey, In fact, my backpacking rifle these days is an Enfield, bolt-action, #5 Jungle Carbine, 10 round box magazine, .303 British. Yes, It's slightly less firepower than my HK91, but 3.5# lighter and I'd hate to try to live on the difference if someone was using one against me. Still, the HK was cool and on a bipod did tend to keep undesirables out of camp. Once a group of outlaw bikers decided to pick a different campsite. Not that I don't like bikers. Lived with one and had a Hell's Angel for a neighbor. Damn fine human being.
