US-based game servers going OFFLINE

We, as a team, have decided that it's in the best interest of the 22nd SAS EVR to end our current contract for the US gaming servers effective 31 December 2009. We will focus our attention and resources, for the beginning of 2010, on the EU side operations.

We intend to continue to provide the best RvS multi-player co-op mission/HR based action in the community!

For those affected adversely by this decision, we apologize and invite you to join us on our EU servers.

Thank you for your continued support!

May i add, that you are still welcome to play on our US based servers, whilst they are still active. Just check our homepage to see if they are online.
And again, thanks for flying SAS 22nd EVR

I'd be upset if it was your EU servers. I actually seem to get better game response on those than the US servers, strange since I'm in CA.

It IS going to get crowded in PG EU, however Sad

EU gives me around 450ping and US gives around 350ping, I honestly don't see any difference when i play on both servers.

PX and cougar, i agree it might get crowded.

If its crowded..then you will have to wait untill there is a slot, or apply to become a member of SAS whereby you will auto be granted a slot.

However, i remember times when we used to fight between SAS members for slots.

Well, I'm not happy about it, but i can't deny it either. And I'm only agreeing to Adelaidian, PX and whoever also said it, it will get crowded... But not that it wasnt crowded already: If there are like 5 people on EU and 2 on US, ppl will go to EU... EU gets full... the 2 guys on US leave after some time; US is empty and nobody joins and EU is full and nobody can join. So well in that case the US server gets useless so its probably not even a bad idea to close it.

Gentlemen, This post is the COs way of keeping you all informed. Your opinions are taken but this IS NOT a debate. Other than that, read Wiz's post if you really want to get in when the server is full! Moving on....

hehe hahaha i live in the uk so this doesnt affect me xD all non EU gamers, ha! xD lol joke

no seriously, i dont think it will make a diff really, becoz as boone said most people flock to the server that has more players, and thats normally EU.

Point is, the US Servers are more laggy and people generally flock to the EU Servers as it is. Dismantling the US Servers is a Smart and Financially sound Choice.

Nothing was really wrong with them as such. The machine that ran them, wasnt as powerful as the EU machine, therefore it lagged a little more. The problem was, that we were not filling 8 game servers, therefore it was financially a bad idea to keep paying for them.
